The last couple of days my HP Pavilion notebook (windows 7) has been acting erratically. Besides minor issues like freezes, my main problem has been a major malfunctioning of my pointer devices (touchpad+wireless logitech mouse)
I've done tests, virus/malware scans, cleaned my registry, re-installed/updated drivers, hard resets etc.
Everything seems to be ok except for my Performance MX mouse. Let me explain in detail what happens:
When I start my computer, without the Logitech mouse USB device connected, everything works properly and I can use my touchpad without any problems. But when connecting my wireless mouse I start getting issues. Neither my touchpad or wireless mouse function properly. For example, I can move the cursor around but it won't let me double-click, select and open programs, web pages etc. It also gives wrong commands, I can press a tab on my web browser but instead of selecting and opening it gets closed. For a brief moment it might work ok again but seconds later it freezes. Only the keybord can be used normally at all times.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and Setpoint but without fixing this. If it was only the MX mouse that wasn't working it would be one thing but since it also affects my touchpad and causing a general system instabilty it gets my worried.
Has anybody experienced this before? What can I do?
I'd greatly appreciate any fast response.
