Same problems here. I started noticing it when I was playing The Witcher 2 and my drag-and-drops in my inventory screen would drop items prematurely due to the double-click issue. Very annoying. I contacted support and opened a ticket.

I'm having the SAME exact issue. What makes matters even worse is that I have the opportunity to return it to the store to swap for another. My dilemma is should I return it to the store, knowning that perhaps the SAME problem may occur the other unit or should I just allow Logitech repair it (replace)?
I only ask this because Logitech my have a batch recall record of their products and since they warranty the quality, they may have REVISED the craftmanship of their product. I know it sounds like an easy switcher-roo but, trust me, when returning a product several times for the SAME problem, you become a target of suspicion and hassle.

these are the steps you can take:
If your mouse is new ,try to change the location of USB. Sometimes the USB is not responding well. Also go to your control panel in windows>hardware and sound>mouse, clicke on mouse and on pointer option chose mostion and change the setting to fast.
If the mouse is old, try to open it up . It does not take very long to have a some dirt collectted insid. clean gently and try . hopefuly that will help you.

I did find a work around for it especially for Mac. I replaced the battery that came with the mouse (which is a 1.2v, 1900mAh) with an Energizer 1.2v, 2500mAh and let the mouse charge over night for a complete charge with the computer off. I woke up this morning to turn on my Macbook Pro and single click works fine! However, it only lasted up till this evening. The battery status on the mouse still reads full yet the double clicking has returned.
After some looking and playing with the preferences on the Logitech Preferences section, I noticed that you can swtich the single-click to a double-click for the left trigger. Now in order to do this, one of the buttons MUST have a single click which I had moved for the middle button. So now when I click with the left button, it produces a double-click and my middle button acts as a single-click.
I know that this it perhaps not a resolution to the problem, but the button does respond and carries out the action of a single click when it actually performs a double-click.
I have tried the options that others have suggested by switching the USB to another port, unfortunately, that didn't remedy the problem. Nor did the static discharge.
After doing this my only conclusion is that it could be a firmware issue because if I can swap the left trigger from a single-click to double-click and it works fine, there is obviously something screwy with the programming.
I hope this helps for anyone out there that maybe frustrated with this. All I can say is swap the single-click to double-click on the left trigger and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Ok here's another discover I found that coincides with my previous post. In having to restart the computer and shutting off the mouse, the single click returns to normal. I left the computer and mouse off over night but I'm hoping that a simple restart or a complete shutdown for a few seconds should help the mouse resume back to single-click. I am sure that perhaps later this evening the double-click nightmare will return as I continue to use it throughout the day.

OK This is hopefully my last comment. I believe I have found the issue, at least in relation to those who might have purchased their Performance MX brand new like me. On my Macbook Pro today, I notice that I had MagicPrefs (mouse configuration app) running on my puter. After using the mouse for a few minutes the double-click symptom return. I decided to mess around with the mouse preferences again and figured I should check out my MagicPrefs app. Lo and behold when I disabled it, the single-click came back held out throughout the day!
I am now down to one out of three bars left on battery and single click has maintained! So if anyone out there has like a third-party mouse configuration app installed on their system you might want to try to disable it and see if that might be the cause to the double-click syndrome.

I have the same problem now where my mouse is double clicking when I left click or when I hold it down to it down to highlight text it looses it.
This is frustrating since as I work on the computer for a living and I extra money on a mouse that I thought would perform.
I can't seem to find any fix for it. Is there anything I can do?

Okanoganjen, I'm not sure what system you're using (Mac/Pc), but double check your settings of your mouse configuration. Also, make sure that you're NOT using ANY other mouse configuration software. In my case it was MagicPrefs (mac). I noticed when I disabled it, the double-clicking stop permenantly.
Any other running mouse configurations will conflict with LogicTechs. I hope this helps.
