Re: Performance MX short sleep timeout and unifying receiver problem

Don't worry about that.  I bought mine over the Internet and it was shipped from the US but Logitech sent me the replacement directly once I proved my purchase.

Wow, its been a long time since my original post, and its a good job I came back here. I was about to buy this mouse again, but now I've seen that the problem is still rampant, I'm not gonna. (Gonna get an MX620 instead) :smileytongue:

But yeah, to the poster before me, no, the firmware isn't able to be updated by the user unfortunately. So you will have to phone logitech and get a replacement.

EDIT : Oh dear, just saw the mx620 thread. Thats not a good sign. Hmm. We'll see. I don't want to lose faith in Logitech products :smileysad:

Re: Performance MX short sleep timeout and unifying receiver problem

[ Edited ]

I had a MX 1100 (from a Wave Pro set) with some connectivity problems. So I have been sent a Performance MX replacement by the amazing Customer Support (no idiotic troubleshooting and stuff, but my mails were detailed, technical and written in proper English). Was both very afraid of possible problems, and happy because of the MX 1100 upgrade.

I have to say I'm one of the lucky guys... my mouse works perfectly, yes it falls to sleep (I think 3-5 minutes of inactivity should do it), but:

- there are progressive sleep modes, at least two of them: one from which the mouse is quickly woken up, with no lag present, it takes like 5 mins of inactivity, and one of deeper sleep, in which the mouse enters only after a long time of inactivity, and it takes approximately a second to wake up, so a little lag is observable.

- from the deep mode the mouse wakes up only when it is moved - I tried moving the wheel and it didn't had any effect - it still needs some testing though, to confirm exactly what is happening when.

I find the sleep modes very well configured and the wake up is quicker and more responsive compared to the MX 1100, that was a little hard to wake up, always a 2 secs of lag before going back active.

Here is the data from Unifying report, if it helps someone:

Logitech® Unifying Software Version : 1.10.38
Dj Api Version : 1, 10, 38

Unifying Receiver
Firmware version : 012.001.00019
Bootloader version : BL.001.013

Performance MX
Firmware version : 015.000.00060
Bootloader version : BL.002.009

Logitech just dont wanna to make a "online" solution. If you are not in usa, then you Have to travel just to solve this. "great" Logitech support.

Re: Performance MX short sleep timeout and unifying receiver problem

What do you mean? I live in Romania and Logitech Support functioned impeccably, I received the Performance MX right at my door, from Netherlands, via UPS standard service. It took two weeks, but it reached me as I was told by their (very technically knowledgeable) Support guy.

It also didn't cost me 1 penny, nada, no effort at all...

I just wish all had the same Customer Support as Logitech... (too bad this forum is only considered peer to peer support though).

Re: Performance MX short sleep timeout and unifying receiver problem

ok.

after more than a month. its solved.

Logitech support  (no the  usa one) sent me the replacement directly once I proved my purchase.

over these days i noticed other problems with the "faulty mouse" like the  `middle button not working` or issues with the zoom. But the "new mouse" is working fine since today.

Thanks to the Logitech Europe SA Technical Support who were sooo much better at dealing with customers.

I can confirm that they DO send replacements to Latinoamerica.

AND there will not be a firmware update that fix it, so get your replacement if your mouse has this: short sleep timeout and unifying receiver problem.

Thats all.

Thank you

Hi all,

I need to report that my Performance MX Logitech Mouse has also this issue. After of a period of inactivity the cursor is frozen and dissapears and then appears on another location. this is very irritating. This si my third Logitech Mouse, I am not sure what is wrong, I am on Snow Leopard. Please advise if there is a way to resolve this.

Kind regards,
