I have this same problem. I've been trying to return mine for 3 weeks now. Logitech has terrible customer service.

I have the exact same problem with my Performance MX mouse. The battery doen not last more than 2 weeks. I have spent more money in battery cost than I have spent for the purchase of the mouse itself. This is ridiculous. Logitech should get us a refund or some sort of coupon for another similar product. I feel I have been ripped off. It's really a shame becasue besides this problem the mouse itself is really awesome.

My wireless ball mice used to go months on each set of batteries. Part of the problem is that optical and laser mice consume more power, which leads to the equally problematic sleep schemes. I actually tried an old ball mouse the other day and found that it still works great. There's a lot of marketing behind optical and laser. The real difference in resolution and smoothness isn't much as long as you keep your mouse pad clean.

Just sent one back to amazon for really loud electrical noise and a 3-5day battery life.
New one arrived yesturday - and guess what the software is showing now - yep LOW Battery....
(I know I haven't had chance to fully charge the battry on this one yet - but they are eneloops, they come with at least 80%+ charge)
This one also has electrical noise on each move or press of a button - I'm sure they are releated, noise has to use power.
Anyway, I told Logitech about the first issue, and I will sure tell them about this one if it's the same.
Logitech, you do get a pass from me as I really like your products, and your previous service. but I want a mouse that has at least a couple of weeks life, or I will be buying and returning them every month until you sort out the issue.

Just returned my latest MX, it came from CCL,
It had a very loose left click, makes noise just resting finger on it.
It also had a creak everytime you rotated the scroll wheel
And again, battery lasted 4d on a full charge.
This time I decided to buy directly from Logitech, (only £69.99) as post was free,
So far it is much better than all the others I have had from retaliers (I'm sure they resell a lot of returned items....)
Will wait to see how long battery lasts on this one.

Had my MX Performance for a week. Same story. Every 2 days the battery goes dead requiring a recharge. If i'd have known this before I bought it I never would have spent the big bucks on one. The micro USB jack on the mouse won't last long at this rate. Then what?
Update: I did some research and bought a higher amp battery off eBay. My mouse takes twice as long to charge but lasts 4 days before needing a recharge.
Powerex 2700Mah battery.

I have the same problem. Is there anyone who doesn't? I foolishly didn't keep my receipt, as previous logitech mice were great. This one is garbage. It seems to me that they should offer a blanket refund/exchange for something worth the money we paid.

I have same problem and after reading all my college complain with the equal trouble. I am waiting for that Logitec returns the money. I hope that this company acted like Gentlemen like I have from them many years experience.

I replaced battery with Sanyo Eneloop 2500mAh. Mouse lasts 2-3 times better than stock.
Also I found, that lower DPI settings leads to longer battery life, and vice versa. So I adjusted DPI to lowest comfortable level, and increased mouse speed and acceleration.
