SetPoint will sometimes (very randomly) stop working for me. I know this is SetPoint because I used to only use the basic MS mouse drivers. SetPoint has finally won me over, but I can't figure out this oddity.
Typically, my mouse will stop reponding and the only way to get it working again is to remove, then re-plugin the USB transceiver. It's really not so bad, except when a tank is bearing down on me in L4D. I also noticed the other day that, out of nowhere, my back button (mouse4) just stopped working. Mouse 1+2 were both fine but the thumb button wouldn't do anything.
Are there any known programs that interfer with setpoint? Has anyone else had similar symptoms?

Hi
,
Do you have any 3rd party mouse software in your system? Those can cause conflicts in SetPoint. Also, does this issue happen in all programs or just a few specific ones?

No... no thrid-party input devices or software that would interfere with Logitech's. So far the software has cut out in Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike (only because I mostly play those) and the thumb button stopped while regular web browsing.
Some programs I regularly have running in the background are AVG antivirus, Creative X-Fi sound drivers, ATI Catalyst and sometimes GPUTool.
Looking through the forums I've read of some folks having trouble with KHALMNPR.exe in the past, but nothing recent. I took some time to kill some unecessary startup processes in MSCONFIG and looked through my running processes using Process Explorer.
Thinking back, this behaviour might have always happened to me and have been one of the reasons I haven't stuck with SetPoint.

Hi there,
I just bought the V450 nano cordless mouse i believe not more than a month ago. Then last week i started experiencing an issue with my V450 Nano laser cordless mouse. I am using Windows XP Pro OS SP2.
The issue that it causes is that there seems to be a malfunction in the scrolling feature. sometimes it just automatically scrolls to the right continuosly. Since i am using the mouse for work, this is a big problem since i use my laptop a lot for work.
I searched for this issue in the internet and i came upon this thread: http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?
Since from the thread people are also experiencing the same issue, and it's because of the new software setpoint 4.72. I tried to uninstall the setpoint program and didn't experience the issue anymore. Now, the problem with this is that i cannot use the extra features that the logitech mouse came with. It now only acts like a regular mouse.
Hope to get your response soon. I use this mouse with my work laptop and i use my laptop very much. The problem/issue that setpoint is causing really makes it hard for me to work properly. i actually has to reinstall my OS because i thought i had an unknown virus in my laptop since it's moving on its own.
There was no response from the thread above about the issue from anyone from logitech.
Hope this post helps to take their attention.

Hi
,
This is likely to be a version specefic issue. Using an older version of SetPoint might work to resolve the problem without loosing SetPoint functionality altogether.

Hi CJChew,
I downloaded an older version of the setpoint software but i still cannot use the added functionalities of the mouse properly. Though i can use it like any regular mouse. I can't use V450's functionality when clicking the middle button (option to flip through documents), when i tilt the wheel left and right, nothing's happening.
Is there a fix coming out for this? when i instaleed setpoint 4.72, i was able to do all functionalites, scroll left to right when tilting the middle scroll button, then flip through documents when the middle scroll button was pressed. i was even able to assign which tasks the buttons should do. In the version u gave me, 4.0, i cannot do any of these things.

Hi
,
If its possible, please check if the same problem occurs on a different computer. This will at least verfy if it is a system specific problem.
