Re: SetPoint 6.20 is available for download ..... 11/18/2010 (Mice)

For those having Butcher851 problem of the blank screen on x64 systems

Just put the following command line assuming the program of the installation is on the default directory

C:\Users\"username"\Downloads\setpoint620_x64.exe /s

Thanks to Logitech staff for their "assistance".

For the record, I buy Logitech products by their quality, because if I speak of user support....

Wow, I cannot believe there is still no answer to the issues I've reported.

I just got a replacement M515 mouse and it still mis-behaves in Microsoft Outlook email when trying to use the scroll wheel to scroll through my emails.  It just cannot scroll one line at a time.  It jumps in big chunks and is very sensitive to the scroll wheel movement.  It only happens in MS Outlook email software.  Scrolling 1 line at a time works fine in the browsers and other software.

Also, anyone having problems with the flimsy bottom cover of the M515 couch mouse? Mine keeps falling off! the flimsey lip latch just is not holding the cover in place strong enough. [edited] poor design.  My 2nd couch M515 mouse is not much better in this respect, so I consider it a design flaw.

Also why is it that when I downloaded the new Setpoint version 6.22 and installed it over my Setpoint v6.20.50 software it still shows up as version 6.20.50 when I run the software and go to "Tools" menu where it shows the current control version?

Also, you still have not given us the option to make the middle button perform a "Double Click" function!  What's up with ignoring these issues?

Logitech please fix your software!

Sorry there, did not realize that was considered abusive language using that word.

Anyway, to update:  I just happened to open my Setpoint software tonight and clicked on the "Check for Updates" button.

I was suprised that this time it actually showed an update was available.  So I clicked on it to continue and then install the update.  After it finishes (took a few minutes to complete), it shows up now as version v6.30.41.

But unfortunately, it has not addressed nor fixed the two issues I have mentioned and reported in my previous posts.

What's one to do.  I wish the Logitech developers would read the posts carefully and understand it.  Then fix it.  I am sure it is a simple fix. Especcially simple is adding the "Double Click" function back for configuring the middle button option.

Oh I should mention that the new Setpoint v6.3 is not showing up when I go to the normal Logitech Support Downloads page.  It only seems to be available through running the setpoint "Check for updates" option inside Setpoint itself.

That said, I notice no changes that I can detect from previous version 6.22.

SetPoint v6.30 Breaks "Smooth Scrolling" for Anywhere Mouse MX

I have the Anywhere Mouse MX & K320 wireless keyboard, Win7 x64, Intel Core 2 Quad, 8GB RAM.

I installed the recently released SetPoint v6.30.43, using the full installer for Win7 x64, and all installed properly (although the version that shows in the SetPoint Tools section displays v6.30.41, the version in Win7 Progs & Features shows v6.30.43.)

Unfortunately:

New Bug:

1) this version broke the Smooth Scrolling feature (no observable impact on performance, on or off.)

Carryover Bugs:

2) the onscreen NumLock toggle indicator still doesn't function for the K320

3) the K320 Favorites feature button doesn't seem to do anything when configured as Default (works for reconfigurations to something other than the default.)

I uninstalled v6.30.43 & reinstalled v6.22.24 (after a few "failed to connect" using the "smart" stub installer), and Smooth Scrolling is back to working (although as usual, it has to be reinitialized occasionally.)

New release is screwing everything up

Sensitivity and click timing seems to mysteriously adjust itself regardless of what I set it to. Something is happening where a single click that's slightly too long is being treated as a double click and documents keep OPENING when all I'm trying to do is move them. Do you have any idea what a waste of time it is to have to try three or more times to switch a document between folders when it keeps popping open unless I hit the exact magic click parameters? Again, how I adjust the settings makes no difference. All other software is up to date, all malware scans run daily, nothing is acting screwy but the mouse (VX Revolution), and this ONLY started when I installed the newest release.

"The installer has detected a newer version of Setpoint. Therefore, the installer will stop."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Obviously I'm going to uninstall and rollback anyway, but ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No, "Are you sure you wish to proceed?" Who are you to decide I can't install your software when I bought your product? Oh and while I'm at it, other freaky things your latest release is doing: Acting like a click is complete when it's not. Result: can't select anything. Deselecting selected text immediately upon release of mouse button. Result: can't cut/copy/paste anything. Randomly deciding that when I minimize a window what I really meant to do was to resize it to a tiny postage stamp size. Result: constantly having to manually resize window (difficult when you CAN'T SELECT ANYTHING and therefore can't grab the window edge) and then TRY again to minimize it. Play/pause audio button stopped working entirely (yes, apparently it's not just my mouse that your software hates). With the old version, I know I can count on at least six crashes a day, but at least everything will HOPEFULLY work as it ought. This is ridiculous.

I've installed the new software and I cannot control the volume in Windows Media Center.  (I cannot remember if it worked before, but now I need it and so tried and see it does not work).  If I close or minimize WMC it works perfectly, but not when I'm in WMC.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Re: SetPoint 6.20 is available for download ..... 11/18/2010 (Mice)

Previously was using an older version of the Setpoint Software (like V.48...) with a VX Nano mouse.  I just got the Anywhere MX mouse and downloaded and installed the newest Software.  Now the Scroll Wheel will not scroll left and right, and what happened to the Switch Application Cascade feature?!!

The older Setpoint versions would cascade the open applications, and allow me to scroll through them, or just click on the one I wanted to switch to.  Now they are tiled, and I can't click on the desktop and go to it.  I have to minimize all my open windows to get back to the desktop.  This new "tiled" format is terrible!!  Also, I can do without the software telling me in a huge banner what windows I have open, just give me back my Cascading/scrolling window feature, please!!

Where are the older drivers that work?  Why does every upgrade turn into hours of aggrivation? Why can"t I uninstall the upgrade instead of everything which turns the mouse into a usless microsoft product?

Logitech doesn't makegood software to support their hardware. This has been true for a long time. I for sure am going to look elsewhere for decent hardware AND software for my next keyboard/mouse purchase as Logitech fails big time.
