I just got done reformating my computer with vista ultimate 32x and im trying to re-install setpoint ive tryed alot of diffrent versions but none of them will work .4.70 gave me VC8 library installed wrongand 4.60- 4.24 said something about side by side interatction. can somone please tell me whats going on . ive alrdy tryed the methods in the methods in the FaQ

I'm experiencing the same problem when installing SetPoint 4.70:

my problem is w/ xp. 1st lx8  i had to return, never worked. but i had loaded set point  and nothing worked so i tried doing un/ reinstall since then - and now with a workin lx8 set point continues to say(we're unable to successfully install setpoint on your system. Maybe caused by anti virus or spyware program prevents us from modifying your system) totally unsuccessful , even uninstallin panda and no spyware progam running. .I've erased setpoint folder in program files and nothing in instashield instalation info... any  help?

Hi,

For the side by side error, please try the following steps:

1. Uninstall SetPoint.

2. Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. You can remove it through the Manage Programs option in Control Panel.

3. Install latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Windows Vista. The software can be downloaded from the link below:

4. Reinstall Setpoint

I have exactly the sampe problem during installation of SetPoint 470. Your hint does not work for me. I already wrote an email to the german support of logitech but after a week there is no anwer. Do you have another hint for me to solve this problem? Thanks!
