I had all the same problems.  Couldn't install due to "no internet" tried all the create an account stuff and nothing worked.  But I did find  a place on the sofware download tab that  was in small print that said:

Tip: If you're having installation difficulties with the Smart Installer package, try downloading the Full installer package (32-bit / 64-bit). This usually does the trick.

When I downloaded the full installer it worked. 

For some reason it took almost a full minute for the link to connect but then the software (25MB) downloaded quickly.

Might work for you!

Your G5 mouse I liked , until it started misbehaving badly on Win 7

Tried to DL the setpoint app for the past hour -- NO offline installer was offered at all

ONline installer result= 100% FAIL

FINALLY found OFFline version on 3rd party download site

Conclusion: Logitech was a HUGE waste of time!!!

Time= $$money = $60/hr

so now maybe i won't buy that expensive Logitech FF flight sim setup, and buy Saitek instead...

Your solution is genius. I had that same problem with the "unable to find required components" message in SetPoint 6.32. The link you provided to the full 32-bit version fixed the problem. Thank you.

I think we would be best suited to using hardware from another company. To screw up mouse installation software is UNBELIEVABLE. "Logi" tech should be embarrased.

It seems that the non-smart version of the install package works.

I installed the 64-bit and it works.
