If I switch apps using the 'switch app' shortcut (1 finger swipe in from left) it causes an issue where the mouse pointer disappears from most of the screen, only being visible within text boxes in a web browser. The pointer still registers when moved over an app / window / menu, but cannot be seen, thus making navigation extemely difficult.
Turning the T650 off & on again does not resolve the issue.
Unpairing & re-Pairing the device (using tab keyboard shortcut) does not resolve the issue.
Unplugging the Unifying USB and plugging it back in does not resolve the issue.
Restarting the PC is a workaround, but obviously not satisfactory.

I'm happy to assist you with your Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 and the pointer issue. In order to fix this issue, try un-pairing the touchpad from the Unifying software and then re-pairing it.
Please let me know if this resolves the problem.

Just to be clear, are you using the Unifying Software? Are you un-pairing the device from there?
Let me also suggest, uninstalling the touchpad from device manager, here are the steps to follow:
1. Start>My Computer/right-click>Properties>Hardware Tab> Device Manager
2. Look for the touchpad, right-click on it, select uninstall
3. Unplug the Unifying Receiver
4. Restart the computer
5. Plug the Unifying Receiver back in
6. Test the touchpad
Please let me know if this works.

Yes I am using the unifying software. I unpaired & re-paired the device from there but the issue is still present.
I followed your instructions to the letter, unistalling the touchpad from the device manager, but the issue is still present when switching apps with the app switch shortcut, the mouse pointer disappears and will not come back.
Interestingly enough I discovered that I do not have to restart the PC to restore the pointer, instead I can sign out and sign back in again. Understandably, this is not a desirable workaround

Let's try a clean boot installation to resolve this issue with the Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650, here are the steps to follow:
Reinstall SetPoint 6.51.8
After completing your troubleshooting, restore your system by doing the following:
NOTE: Be sure you "Enable all" Microsoft services when you are done troubleshooting, and re-enable all programs in the Startup tab, or will you lose some OS functions (ex. internet connection) and some applications won't get loaded during startup.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue with the Switch applications gesture.

I've already tried that method, as per the other issue I'm having with the K810 keyboard. Unfortunately it is still not resolved.
Uninstalling & reinstalling on a clean boot made no difference.
The mouse pointer still disappears when using the 'switch app'shortcut swipe using the T650.

Let's try one last thing, test the Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 on a different computer.
If the pointer issue persist, please contact the Logitech Customer Support team in your area for further assistance.

I am having this same issue with this mouse and others. I currently have a MK550 desktop with SetPoint updated as of today. The mouse pointers work fine as long as you don't use the touchscreen on my laptop. As soon as you do, the only way you can find it is the CTRL key.
I have tried this and have the same problem with Microsoft mice. It seems to be that the special programs (like setpoint) bypass the internal settings or set the mouse values afterward based on interface with this mouse, but it gets reset back to the default on the laptop. You can get it working one time again if you set another set of pointers in the MS embedded mouse details, but even that will go away if you touch the screen again.
Everyone points at everyone else. I'm hoping Logitech will provide more help. Search the Windows community for "Windows 8 mouse disappears" and you will be amazed at the number of issues.
Right now, I have to reboot to get my visible cursor back. BRB
