I can get this software to work with my laptop, but not my desktop. Unfortunately, it's the desktop where it will be useful. My wife refuses to allow a computer to be parked in the living room by the HDTV, but she will allow me to temporarily lay out an HDMI cable from the computer room to play videos from the computer on the big screen.
This app is a perfect way of managing the computer using the TV screen and my iPhone...if it worked.
The iPhone app can't find the server, either by searching or by inputting the IP address.
Both computers run Win 7 64 bit. The laptop is Ultimate; the desktop (the balky machine) Pro.
Running Norton 360 on the desktop, which is the biggest difference in the setup, I guess. The laptop (AVG Free) needed nothing additional to run the app.
I've opened an exception for the server program to the local subnet, which should do the trick but doesn't.
Any other troubleshooting suggestions? Turning off the Norton firewall completely doesn't help.
