Trackball + Unifiying Reciever

[ Edited ]

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-pointers/trackballs/devices/189

Does the Wireless Trackball work with the unifiying reciever? Or is there any plans for an imrpoved reciever in the future?

The issue is and always has been its mentally massive wireless dongle. Which seems odd, given with how well suited the Trackball is for use with laptops and on uneven surfaces on the move or on sofa. The massive and relatively short range of the receiver hampers its best qualities.

I ask, because mine has recently broke and I'm looking to replace it.

Is there any other known method for connecting it to a better usb sized reciever?

Re: Trackball + Unifying Receiver

It does not help that the product details for that item advertise the unifying technology on the same page. But the answer is

no, according to the specifications and the Cordless Optical TrackMan I have on my desk alongside an M570.

I prefer the latter. (I have both, partly to avoid confusion between two PCs on the same desk.)

I agree, it would be nice if the Cordless Optical TrackMan were unifying.

Re: Trackball + Unifiying Reciever

Just bought mine.  The M-570 was in stores. Hated it.  Who's brilliant idea was it to create a tiny, thumb-controlled trackball.  Saw the trackman, just got it in.  What the hell is this reciever?  How is this wireless?  No bluetooth? No little reciever like the 570.  This **bleep**.  I'll play with it for a little bit to see if I can get used to it, but signs are pointing to me returning both and going back to my 15 year old Kensington Expert Mouse.
