Mice and Pointing Devices

I have had my trackball for over 5 yrs now and it's showing it's age. I love this thing. It's been through 2 tours to Iraq. A co-worker was the one that introduced me to them. After a little getting used it, I was flying around my reports and slides that I had to prepare. The only thing that would have made this thing any better would have been a scrolling wheel set below the clickers.

Anyways... the left clickers are't working as they used to and instead of buying a whole new trackball (even though I can get one off e-Bay for $25 shipped), I'd like to just repair the one that I have. Yes... I love to fix things myself.. lol. Would this be possible?
