Mice and Pointing Devices

I own a V550 Nano. I have in my possesion two laptops (one work and one personal) that I would like to use the mouse with. My goal is to have a nano receiver in each laptop with the one mouse to use between the two.

Is it possible to have one mouse configured to work with two separate nano receivers without requiring a sync using the "connect utility" each time I switch laptops

The personal laptop runs Ubuntu linux so I can not run the "connect utility" with it unless a alternate method is known (excluding a virtual machine). If I had access to the "connect utility" on both machines I could easily enough run it each time a switch laptops.

Please let me know your suggestions.
