Hi guys, I recently purchased a Performance MX to use with a notebook and have been having mixed success ever since. Here's my problem: when moved, the mouse always brings the computer out of sleep mode.
I have attempted to disable the "Allow this device to wake the computer" option for my "Logitech HID-compliant Unifying mouse" to no avail -- the computer always wakes up regardless. Additional testing on my desktop reproduces the same results; however, my MX Revolution works as expected in this regard (although that one has a slightly different entry in Device Manager). Likewise, I'm getting successful non-wake results from a wired mouse as well.
What am I missing?
Edit: Did some additional testing. Noted behavior of always bringing computer out of sleep (formerly "stand-by") mode is consistant between my two Windows 7 boxes. A third box running XP x64 did not produce this behavior; it acted properly and did not wake up the computer when the mouse was wiggled when set not to wake up the computer, and did wake it when set to do so. Don't have anything running Vista, so I cannot speak to that.
Edit 2: For reference, some SetPoint versions. 4.82.11 (Driver), 4.80.103 (Control Center). Problem occurs even without SetPoint installed under Windows 7.
Edit 3: Changed title since it seems to be more than just the Performance MX.

I'm having the same problem with a new 'Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX' on a Vista laptop. It works great except that I can't stop it from waking up the laptop from Standby when I move the mouse slightly.
I too found that removing a tick from the box 'Allow this device to wakeup the computer' in Device Manager/ Logitech HID-Compliant Cordless Mouse/ Properties / Power Management has no effect. In contrast, the above procedure works fine with my VX Nano.

Mailed technical support and got this back as the reply:
Thank you for contacting Logitech Electronic Technical Support.
Regarding your issue, it seems to have compatibility issues with the Windows 7 platform. Logitech is already looking into this case and we recommend that you visit Logitech.com from time to time to check for updates. In the meantime, I would like you to contact Microsoft regarding this matter to see if they could assist you further regarding this Windows 7 issue.
Thank you for choosing Logitech.
Doesn't sound very encouraging. ![]()

I'm expecting a reply soon from Logitech about my Vista / Anywhere Mouse issue, but it's hard to believe that the problem lies with the operating system (Vista and/or Win 7).
Seems to me that Logitech must have changed something in the design of the new Logitech Unifying Receiver to make it insensitive to 'Allow this device to wakeup the computer'. After all, the earlier VX Nano receiver works correctly.
Since the Unifying Receiver might be used with a keyboard as well as a mouse, I wonder if they did it to ensure the keyboard is always functional, and forgot about the side-effect on laptop battery life? The Anywhere Mouse has a nice slide switch underneath that makes it easy to switch off and that stops the laptop waking up accidentally, but I don't want the laptop wasting its battery on powering up the Unifying Receiver all the time in Standby.

I have the same problem with the wave desktop pro - thats a wave keyboard and mx1100 on the same receiver. If I tick the box for the mouse, no effect on its ability to wake from sleep. If I tick it and turn off the keyboards wake ability, then neither of the two can bring it out of sleep. I have a track ball as well that I can use to wake, so its not that big of a deal. I would suggest it is an issue with the unifying receiver not being able to segregate the signals of that which it is unifying in win 7. I currently have a support ticket open for this. I doubt the issue will be resolved through. If anybody finds something on it, please post!

Update to previous post:
Logitech kindly sent me a new specimen of the Anywhere Mouse. However it behaves exactly the same as the original one. Moving it still wakes up the sleeping laptop, except of course unless I switch off the mouse. But that's not good because if you forget once, you could end up with a seriously overheated laptop in your bag plus a flat battery when you need it.
That's in Vista. In XP it works as expected and doesn't wake the laptop.
I'm starting a separate thread: 'Anywhere Mouse keeps waking sleeping Vista laptop' to see if anyone's found a solutions.

Has anyone had any results on this issue? I have an anywhere mouse on windows 7 and have exactly the same issue, with one addition. It doesn't matter wheather the mouse is on or not (even tried it without batteries), the reciever alone wake the system. Thsi is really annoying since the whole point of this reciever is to leave it in the computer.
C'mon logitech, I've read posts on many other forums about this issue. How about a little support?

The last I heard from Logitech in this saga was the message below on 31st January. But nothing since, despite a prompt from me on the 11th Jan.

Anything new on this front from anyone else? I've tried mailing support again but it seems futile. The latest tech support gem is:
Avea, I would like suggest you this time to try using the said mouse on a different world
Anyone on the moon available for testing? Much as I love the small receiver, I would definitely not have kept the mouse if I knew about this before hand. :-/

Another post has pointed me in the right direction. Using the MCE Standby Tool mentioned, I discovered two entries related to my Performance MX: 'HID-compliant consumer control device (002)' and 'Logitech HID-compliant Unifying mouse'.

Unchecking both of them results in the desired behavior when wiggling my mouse now -- nothing!
It sounds like this workaround may not work if you have other unified devices, but for those of you just having difficulty with your mouse, give it a try.
