Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

Hello,

I own an M235 mouse and an M570 treckball and use both successfully on a WIN7 system with one Nano receiver. Now I wanted to use the same pointing devices on another Laptop running XP SP3 using the one spare receiver. I installed the latest Unifying software successfully but it would not even recognize the receiver "no receiver connected".

Any ideas?

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

@rgbprogressive

Logitech explicity states that a device cannot be paired with more than one receiver at a time.  I discovered this after attempting to use my 570 mouse with two systems - a winXP box and a Linux Mint system.  I can pair my 570 with either receiver and switch it to my Mint System and the mouse works great with either system.  However, only one receiver can be paired at a time.  I tried to pair both simultaneously in two usb ports ... it would pair one only.

Hope this saves you some time

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

That's true, but as I understand the query, the PC isn't recognising the receiver. So it can't even look for a device.

Still, no harm in "un-pairing" the device from one receiver and then seeing if the other receiver can pair with it.

Maybe the "no receiver connected" message pops up because nothing is free to pair with it.

If that doesn't work, then the usual tricks, trying a different USB port, and one on the motherboard rather than a hub, would be worth trying.

I assume that references to M235 really means M325.

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

Hello rgbprogressive,

The M235 mouse does not ship with a unifying receiver.  It ships with a nano receiver which looks very similar to the unifying receiver.  The M235 will work with the nano receiver that it ships with as well as a unifying receiver. You can purchase an extra unifying receiver here.

I hope this helps you out.

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

Hey, that's interesting. A mouse sold not as unifying works with a unifying receiver.

Is there a list anywhere of other devices that work like that?

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

I have started having a similar problem.  I've had a darkfield mouse for over two years and just now the unified receiver has started giving me problems.  The device is not being recognized by the system, no matter how hard I try.  I just tried the unified receiver of a friend and it recognized it and works with no probems, but mine does not.  Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

I hope you are not one of those people who have been "timed out" by their unifying receiver.

That is a new one on me. And a bit worrying for people with active lives.

Re: Unifying SW would not recognize Nano Receiver

I don't think so, I have only attached one mouse ever, this problem seems to affect people that continually change the device attached to the unified USB receiver
