I was just about to buy a Performance mouse but saw this thread and stopped. I wouldn't replace my Revolution without this feature.

My MX Revolution died recently and I was about to buy a Performace mouse, but since I found out that it does not have Smartshift, I'm not going to buy it. I won't buy another Logitech mouse until Smartshift is back!

SmartShift is the beast feature of the MX Revolution.

I have two myself, and bought one for 4 other friends of mine.

I will not consider buying another mouse until one has SmartShift.

At the time, I purchased the VX Revolution, mistaking the Microgear with SmartShift. And, although it is a good mouse, I was very disappointed.

Apparently the only way to by a SmartShift mouse today is to by the expensive MX Revolution set containing also a gaming keyboard.

Please, Logitech, make the MX Revolution available separately again or make a new mouse featuring the SmartShift wheel.

Definetly agree with this as I say in my post here seems like a step back, and will not purchase a new logitech mouse till a new model is released with SmartShift.

Support. I actually just bought a G700 thinking it would have it. I'm returning it today and I guess I'll end up buying another Revolution off eBay. SmartShift is the one feature I will not do without in a mouse now, why on earth would you remove it?

As an aside, that sandpaper texture on the sides of the G700 are terrible.

Agreed whole-heartedly. I'd vote twice if I could.

My third MX Revolution is on its way out and I am about to peruse eBay looking for another one with which to replace it. I can't even stand the 2007 version of it, I have to search for the now-rare 2006 models, because something changed about click-to-click scrolling in the 2007 version in some cases (I forget what exactly by now, but it felt like it was still sending scroll messages constantly between detents, defeating the purpose--it may have been a driver issue specific to the OS).
