Vote for Smartshift Feature in further Logitech Mice

Hello.

So the successor of the MX Revolution is out and it has no Smartshift.

If you mean that this feature is necessary for you than wrote a reply and tell Logitech that we want this essential feature back.

I´ve wait for three years for logitech to fix the issues of the Revo and the darkfield laser might be nice but cutting of the most useful feature isn`t the best idea.

Re: Vote for Smartshift Feature in further Logitech Mice

completely agree!!!!!!

actually I coudn't believe it when I read the specification of this new performance MX I thought they just forgot to put it in the features page, and the only reason I can think of is the problem with the middle click, but you can solve this just mapping the middle click to the instant search button.

definitely the smartshift is the biggest advantage of the revolution.

Re: Vote for Smartshift Feature in further Logitech Mice

I have to agree.  I bought the Performance MX after playing with my cousin's Revolution MX without realizing that the Performance didn't have smartshift.  Major dissapointment.  My wife needed a mouse too, so she now owns the Peformance, while I search for something that works for me.  It's amazing how intuitive the smartshift is, and how it becomes a "must-have".  The mechanical shifting on the Peformance is, by comparison, unbearable.  Frankly, for me the lack of smartshift is a deal breaker.

Consider this voted for by me too.  I've just taken delivery of a Performance MX and it hadn't even crossed my mind that it wouldn't have this feature (see my post here where I'm naively asking how to enable it!).  This is such a crucial feature to me that the Performance MX is going back straight away, and I'm stocking up on 2 new MX Revolutions before they disappear from the shelves altogether.  I strongly urge Logitech to release a new mouse that features SmartShift.  Like I indicated, I was truely shocked to see that none of the new mice have this feature!

Re: Vote for Smartshift Feature in further Logitech Mice

I prefered "always free-spin" in the MX Revolution and still do in Performance Mouse MX.

Do you guys also miss the "zoom" button underneath the scroll wheel?? I had it assigned to close in all programs except my browsers in which it pressed Ctrl-W to close tab. It was perfect. I REALLY miss that button in the Performance MX :smileysad:

Also you can't assign Performance Mouse MX buttons #6 and #9 to application-specific assignments. Very frustrating.

Count me in for a vote.

I was planning to get the M905 to replace my MX Rev last week.  When I found out that smart shift is not available, it immediately discourage me to make the purchase.   I thought I was mistaken that Smart Shift is not available and after some search in this forum, I can't believe that such a nice feature is not available on the top of the line mouse.

Re: Vote for Smartshift Feature in further Logitech Mice

Personally, the lack of SmartShift has prevented me from upgrading my MX Revolution to both the Performance MX (Which i purchased, then promptly returned the next day) and the G700.

I cannot fathom why logitech has taken this step back, and i will be holding to the revoluation (Which is down to $50 now, so it's cheap to buy. I'll be getting a few so i can replace mine as i wear them out)

Logitech, please bring this feature back. Rather than dropping it in favor of some clunky physical switch simply because some people found it confusing, perhaps make it...less confusing? Radical, i know.

Anyways, I agree.
