I, too, have purchased at least 20 of the wired Trackman Wheels over the years and prefer them over every other mouse or trackball I have tried.

Back in July of 2011 I purchased the M570 (its wireless cousin) and can say I am very happy with it.  I used it roughly 10 to 16 hours per day at first for a period of several months and now use it 9 to 10 hours per day.  I'm still using the original battery that came with it without any issues.  This thing does NOT eat batteries even under heavy use.  Also, I have yet to have it interfere with any other electronics.  I have not done conclusive testing but with my usage patterns this thing is a GREAT product.

Having said all that, I still wish the wired version was available.  I use them at home as well prefer the wired vesions for my kids for many reasons.  If you folks made them available again I'd probably order 10 (or at least 5) to just have some on reserve in case one breaks permanently.  I do not want to use any other style of mouse or trackball.

If the wired version came back I would also stock-up. Perhaps a 50% coupon will show up again and I'll evaluate the wireless version for home but I also use the wired version at work where the use of any wireless devices are prohibited. There is still a need for the wired versions. As someone I believe stated earlier in the thread the Logitech response outside of this forum was that it was not coming back.

As a long time user of the Trackman Wheel and older corded-variants, I have to express my EXTREME dissatisfaction with you (Logitech). I said that I would never go back to any other mouse or company until now. This design is the best. BUT... you (Logitech) have decided that planned obsolescense is the only corporate model to go by. You've made it so other gravy-sucking-pigs can scour the earth for the remaining units and then charge $230.00 for a single mouse. W.T.F.!

I do not want your "Cordless" Trackball/Wheels. I want a unit that plugs into my computer. Until you bring back the T-BB18 style mouse in a "Corded" Version, I will not be giving you my buisness.

So... Quite plainly: BRING BACK THE "CORDED" TRACKMAN WHEEL!

I also registered in the forums for the sole purpose of expressing my displeasure with the discontinuing of the wired Trackman Wheel.  I have one of these on every computer in the house, at work, and keep one in my computer bag that I use everytime I take the laptop out.  I just had one fail and found out through this forum that they are no longer available.  I am irate!

Wireless versions are unacceptable.  I have had wireless keyboards and Trackman (men?) in the past and my experience is that the battery always dies at the exact worst time and when you don't have any batteries to replace it with.  I use my laptop for business and cannot afford to have it die when I need it.  The trackpad on the laptop is a joke.  I haven't used it yet and don't intend to.  When you're at home and working on a lapboard and only have four inches of space, a mouse is useless.  When you've been using your thumb for over ten years, switching to your fingers is just not going to happen (plus the fact that it's ugly).

In short, PLEASE PLEASE bring back the wired Trackman!!!  I"ll buy five just to make sure I never have to go through this frustration again!!

I also would like to buy 3 wired optical Trackmans. I need one for compuer at home, one for my netbook during travelling (try to use a mouse on a thigh sitting in bus or a train you will see) and one for laptop at work. Wireless trackball makes no sense because this device does not move.

Disadvantages of wireless trackball:

-hassle with batteries

-response lags

-unneeded radio frequency smog pollution

-during travelling when trackball slips away you can catch its cable and bring it back

-interference with other Logitech devices (if you have 9 of them - same model 2 will not work because of interference).

Agreed.  Logitech's thumb operated pointing devices are the most efficient and comfortable ever made, at least in my family's opinion. Over the last  >15 years, I have become so accustomed to the Trackman's fluid movement and ergonomic fit that using a traditional mouse is downright awkward.  Each of my six grandchildren learned to operate computers with a Trackman Wheel mouse and prefer them to any other style.  Unlike the thumb operated Trackman series, Logitech's ambidexterous trackball is not suitable for small hands or for aging ...ahem... arthritic hands.  I sincerely hope Logitech takes note of our appreciation for the Trackman series mice and decides to put them back on the market.  Nothing else comes close.

I am also one of the unhappy customers. I have been searching for months to try to find another sutible corded track mouse but I am unable to find one as good as the Trackman Wheel. Please bring this product back. There is no reason why a wireless mouse would be better then the corded version so much so that one would be totally discontinued.

Hello, i signed up too to kindly ask to Logitech to build a wired trackman m570. It seems very good, but i don't want to replace a battery for month due to my heavy use of computer.

This mouse sells for ~$200 on Amazon... Logitech, get your act together, listen to the demands of you users and start production again.  Wireless is for chumps, it makes no sense for people to go wireless (it costs more because of batteries and people like me are NOT allowed to have wifi at work due to security concerns).

I agree with everyone else: the wired Trackman is the best product for my use.  I use a KVM to work between 5 different computers running Windows, Fedora Linux and FreeBSD.  The Trackman works flawlessly with all the OSs.  Now they have this "cool new" wireless trackball substitute that won't work through a KVM because "a KVM separates the Unifying receiver from the computer".  I just got off the phone with a Logitech support person and I got a definite vibe from him of "not another person calling to complain about the discontinued wired Trackman".  He did suggest one lame workaround of moving the Unifying receiver between computers when I switch computers via the KVM.  That's not practical for my computer network.

I guess Logitech does (pick one or more):

 - not use its own products;

 - not have security issues with using wireless devices within its own network;

 - not have anyone in marketing that has any real world experience using a computer/multiple computers;

 - not have very well informed senior management.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Guess I gotta go buy what I'm looking for in some dark alley...
