Windows 8.1 and "problem starting c:\windows\system32\LogiLDA.dll"

after installing 8.1, three out of three machines on boot and login say cannot start c:\windows\system32\LogiLDA.dll

What is the workaround.. uninstalling set point and unifing software did not work..

Thanks all in anticipation :smileyhappy:

[ Edited ]

Had the same problem appear after the update from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1.

Here's how to fix it without having to open regedit or do any registry entries

I had a Logitech unified dongle on another machine...

  1. Insert Unified Logitech Dongle into an open USB port on the machine generating the LogiLDA.dll error
  2. Machine regonizes the ULD and loads appropriate software
  3. Verify that the mouse/trackball works through the ULD
  4. Remove the ULD from the USB port
  5. Reboot
  6. After the machine restarts, login
  7. Error no longer appears

Hope this helps someone else.

Re: Windows 8.1 and "problem starting c:\windows\system32\LogiLDA.dll"

Disable LogiLDA from Startup
1. Launch the Taskmanager
2. Under TAB Startup search for LogiLDA
3. Right mouse button an disable and Restart PC.
