after installing 8.1, three out of three machines on boot and login say cannot start c:\windows\system32\LogiLDA.dll
What is the workaround.. uninstalling set point and unifing software did not work..

Had the same problem appear after the update from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1.
Here's how to fix it without having to open regedit or do any registry entries
I had a Logitech unified dongle on another machine...
Hope this helps someone else.

Disable LogiLDA from Startup
1. Launch the Taskmanager.
2. Under TAB Startup search for LogiLDA
3. Right mouse button an disable and Restart PC.
