Any word on when there will be a Windows 8 driver for the Logitech TouchPad? Having all the gesture support would be great!

Hi, it is a week away from Windows 8 launch and a key issue is whether the touchpad will fully support W8. No word on updated drivers for the 910-002345 touchpad for Windows 8. Windows 8 relies on all kinds of new multifinger gestures. When will Setpoint update this pad with these drivers--or will it be built into Windows 8? We all need to know this before we update to W8. Thank you!

Hello threebeers,
I see that you want to know if the drivers for the Logitech Wireless Touchpad with part number 910-002345 would be updated so it can work with Windows 8 touch gestures.
This Wireless Touchpad was designed to work on a Windows 7 computer, therefore it might not support the touch gestures for Windows 8. On this list you can find the mice that work with Windows 8, but they would only have basic functionality and would provide basic navigation. There is a chance that the features programmed in SetPoint may not function in this mode.
If you wish you can take a look at the Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650, this touchpad is designed to work on Windows 8 and it supports up to thirteen touch gestures.
Hope you find this information useful,
Paulina

I understand that the current software for this does not properly support W8. My question is why Logitech cannot update the sofware in the next version of Setpoint to make it work with W8. The issue has been posted on this board several times without a clear response. What is the hardware limitation? I don't want to buy another Touchpad. Please advise.

Hello threebeers and MX5500,
I see that you both want to use the Logitech Wireless Touchpad on a Windows 8 computer. This touchpad was designed for a Windows 7 OS, therefore it's only supported on that OS and the software available on this product downloads page is for Windows 7.
I understand that could be frustrating, but don't worry. Since the Wireless Touchpad is on the list of Windows 8 product support and device compatibility, you can download SetPoint from the links below and use this device on a Windows 8 computer.
With SetPoint installed, the Wireless Touchpad would only have basic functionality on Windows RT. Software and app support aren't available for this platform. The software would provide basic navigation in Windows 8 style UI, but the features programmed in SetPoint may not function in this mode.
Please keep in mind that the Wireless Touchpad doesn't support the Windows 8 specific gestures and touch features, but there's a high probability that the touch gestures designed for the Wireless Touchpad may work.
Hope you find this information useful, and please keep on enjoying your Wireless Touchpad.

This is like the Vista driver problem all over again. How can hardware providers fall into the same 'sorry, we weren't ready yet' trap they did for Vista? MS gave plenty of notice this time, so it's Logitech who've dropped this ball.

Hello AndyCalling,
The experience you have had is certainly not the one we wish our customers to have, fortunately you can find all our Windows 8 touch devices for sale on our website. At the moment the T650 Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad is out of stock on our United Kingdom website.
I definitely know that could be not what you expected, but if you wish you can place your order and we'll deliver as soon as the product is available.
Hope you get your T650 real soon.
