Re: drag and drop / double click problem

I have a V220 and am running it on windows 7.  I am having the same problem also.  Has anyone else figured it out? Also, I am not really a tech guy so if you have figured out how to fix it, if you could please really spell it out step by step with which programs to reinstall, where they are, how you fix them...etc.  Thanks so much.

I found a fix! A new mouse from a different manufacturer. :smileywink:

Re: drag and drop / double click problem

I experienced the same problem with my cordless trackman marble. I found out that the problem does not occur, when I press the front part of the left button and use the minimum amount of force just to get the switch clicking. Then dragging of items or resizing windows works. I would be nice to have a design of the button avoiding that too much force could be applied.

Perhaps others can reproduce this?

I'm also experiencing the double click and drag-and-drop problem, but my mouse is Performance MX. I've noticed exactly the same thing about pressing on the front part of the button - it seems to work better then. So yea, I've managed to reproduce. :smileyhappy: Obviously I cannot press it like that every time simply because my forefinger is not THAT long, lol.

Taking the battery out and clicking on the buttons for 20 seconds helped for only about 5 mins, then the problem re-appeared. If I use the mouse with another machine (laptop), the problem is there too.

I bought the mouse about 3 months ago and the problem occured about a week ago. I can no longer use the device. This is absolutely frustrating. I was really hoping such an expensive top-class mouse would work better.

I'm on Win7 64 bit, Set Point version is 6.32.7, driver version is 5.33.14

(Sorry that I write about Performance MX in a thread about M570. I came to this page via Google and when I read about pressing on the front part of the button, I thought I'd write that I had noticed the same thing.)

Re: drag and drop / double click problem

Hi Ruslana,

Unfortunately it sounds like a hardware defect in the mouse, to verify this you can test it on a second computer for the same problem. If it occurs please contact customer care in your region for a warranty inquiry.

Re: drag and drop / double click problem

I too have the exact same problem and it also started when I upgraded to Lion.  Whether this is a Logitech LCC problem or an Apple OS X Lion problem I cannot say, but it would be nice if they acknowledged that the problem is real.  None of this click your button 20 times nonsense.

Re: drag and drop / double click problem

Hello,

finally I got a fix, after checking out the hardware somewhat closer. After opening the mouse, I disassembled the PCB in the cover part. There is the problem:  The microswitch from the left button is mounted in a way allowing the switch to move up and away slightly while receiving pressure. The case is not fixed on the PCB, instead there is a plastic part holding it more or less efficiently down. So, I used a small amount of  two-component glue applied between the PCB and the case of the switch to fix it really good in place.

Reassembling the cover of the wireless trackman marble admittedly needs some patience and light pressure at the right places to get it back in place.

But now the left button works much much better! I am happy with my trackman marble again :-)

Bye,

vtichy

Re: drag and drop / double click problem

This issue is super annoying. I've experienced it now on three Trackman Wheels (the dark-gray wired, red thumb-ball model) and it's already present on my M570 wireless (blue thumb-ball) model now too, within two weeks of owning it. Very frustrating. Must be a pretty a widespread manufacturing defect in the left mouse button component used in all your thumb-operated trackball models. Really disappointing, Logitech.

Re: drag and drop / double click problem

I bought an M570 from Amazon on April 14th 2011 which developed issues with one of its micro-switches after a few months. I bought a second one on February 23rd 2012, which also developed the same fault. Logitech sent me a brand new one and now that too has started to exhibit the issues that other people have mentioned in this thread. I guess I'm going to need to contact customer support to get a 4th one, but it's disappointing that this issue still exists.
