I have purchased the mk550 wireless combo keyboard/mouse for two office computers, and after a few months of service, both units have started to act up. The mouse, m510, has erratic, jerky movements across the screen, and the keyboard sometimes drops characters, and has long pauses after which all the characters typed will suddenly pop up. Both keyboard and mouse are connected with Logitech's unifying devices, plugged into a front USB slot, ~18-20 " away from the input devices.
Steps I've tried to rectify the problem:
Replaced batteries in both mouse, and keyboard.
Swapped USB port on front of computer.
Connected unifying device to USB extension to locate closer to devices.
Turned off cell phone and WI-FI.
The problem has persisted in the mouse, while battery replacement seemed to fix the keyboard pause issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello madmanager,
You could also try what we refer to as a "caps drain" . Please remove the batteries, and with the batteries removed type on the keyboard for 20 seconds, trying to touch all of the keys, replace the batteries and test. For the mouse, do the same but alternately left/right click for 20 seconds.
Best Regards,

My MK550 combo is only a month old and my mouse wouldn't scroll correctly. This fixed it. I've no idea what "caps drain" is but hallelujah! my mouse works again. Thanks Cintech!
