First let me tell you that I know nothing about Mac OS.
On a windows system I would start by clearing all my temp file and Internet Browser temp file and Cookies. Then reboot the system by shutting it down/turning it off for a minute or two.
If this doesn't fix the problem then I would uninstall and reinstall the mouse software then go into the Device manager and under the Mouse heading I'd delete/uninstall all mice and repeat the shutdown/power off for a minute or two.
If that doesn't fix the problem then I would start look for malware/virus that may be causing the problem.
Hope you figure it out, like I said, I know nothing about Mac OS, wish I could be of more help.
