Mice and Pointing Devices

I recently upgraded our work computer to Windows 7 32 bit.  I installed our AutoCad 2000, however, the keys we assigned on the mouse do not function.  It's the same mouse we've been using with AutoCad in Win XP.  When I installed the AutoCad software the Win 7 put the program to "run as administrator".  I know from experience that sometimes all the programs being used in this type of setting must also be change to "run as administrator".  I did this with the mouse and it still doesn't respond.  The only keys that do work are the left click, right click and scroll.  Any help here would be appreciated.
