reciever for MX-1100 not being recognized by computer

i recently got a new computer which runs windows 7.  i plugged in the receiver for the MX-1100 and it worked perfectly.    one day not long after the initial install....  i decided to move the location of the reciever from a front USB port to a rear one...  i did that and the mouse did not work.  i moved it back..   didnt work.    i rebooted the computer and it went though the initial stages of saying that it discovered new hardware but did not finish the installation process.  i rebooted several times to see if it would take.  it did not.

it is not listed as a human interface device in "Device Manager"  there are no yellow explanation points in device manager for anything.

i reinstalled the software, nothing.    i installed the logitech unifying reciever to see if it could detect the receiver.. it could not.

i am at a loss.   What next?

Re: reciever for MX-1100 not being recognized by computer

Hello No-Justice,

As I understand your issue , your system is not detecting either the MX 1100 receiver or a Unifying receiver ?

Did you install drivers that allow you to use a console system controller on your computer?
