I have a logitech USB Microphone (its a rockband microphone),
it used to work, but now whenever I plug it in it doesn't install because it says I need the latest driver software, where can I find this? I have a Compaq Pesario CQ50 Windows Vista Home Premium laptop.

I had the same problem, in my case it seemed like something had corrupted the USB Audio drivers in C:\Windows\INF. I popped in the Windows 7 DVD and opened D:\sources\install.wim in 7zip. Then I browsed to the 4\Windows\inf\ folder inside, then extracted the files to a separate folder. Then I just copied all of the files from there into the windows inf folder as administrator. After going to the device manager and telling it to update the driver it then found the drivers and worked just fine. I have no idea what caused the original problem but this seemed to solve it just fine!

Here is an experience that might be helpful to anyone having a problem installing the Logitech USB microphone under Windows 7. When I first attempted to do this, I received the typical error messages that others have seen. Nothing I tried would resolve the installation issues. And then I looked for a variable that might explain what was happening.
In my case, I was plugging the device into a powered Kensington USB dome hub. In most, but not every case, this hub has connected USB devices without a hitch. I decided to try plugging the microphone directly into a USB port on the motherboard instead. THAT was the solution for my installation problem. Windows 7 immediately recognized the device and installed two device drivers successfully. I tested the microphone with Audacity 1.3 Beta (specific to Windows 7) and all was well.
