The product description states, "Noise-canceling microphone: Filters out unwanted background noise," but it doesn't seem to be doing that at all. It's picking up the computer humming, the TV in another room, people talking in the next room, pretty much every background noise you don't want it to be picking up, it does.
All I can to help the problem is lower the recording volume, but then it becomes neccessary to speak with my mouth next to the thing.
I'd like to know what else (if anything) can be done.

I'm having this same problem... I'm getting very clear recordings of cars passing by outside, and VERY pronounced 50/60 cycle hum. Do you have to activater the noise canceling feature or something?
thanks!

Exactly the same with me. Noise canceling not working at all.
