Logitech USB microphone

I recently got a Logitech USB microphone to use with my MAC G5 for ichat. However it doesn't seem to work. IT seems to me that it is receiving voice and sound but the person on the other end of the ichat is not hearing me.
I noticed that the USB is supposed to be 2.0 but the microphone is 1.1. Does this have anything to do with it? Do I have to use a special microphone from Apple to use with ichat?
The people I have been chatting with have internal microphones on their Macs.

I have checked and double checked to make sure all of the settings are correct in System Preferences and Speech.

Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Logitech USB microphone

If you can hear yourself through your speakers then the mic is fine and the problem lies with the program. Unless any resident mac users in here want to comment I suggest you should go to a mac forum that dicuesses these things and ask about it.
A confused caller to IBM was having troubles printing documents. He told the technician that the computer had said it "couldn't find printer." The user has also tried turning the computer screen to face the printer but that his computer still couldn't "see" the printer.

Re: Logitech USB microphone

Thanks Thebaka. That's exactly what I did on Wednesday. I got a reply from someone that suggested I check the ichat preferences which I hadn't done yet. I had to select the specific microphone in the ichat preferences. Now it is working fine.

Thanks for your reply. Appreciat it.
