I'm using the 960 USB headset. It worked fine for a month but just recently it has stopped working. I often use the mute button and I think it stopped working after I had pressed it so I think it may be broken.
Does the mute button information get stored in the headset or in the computer and what can I do to fix it?
There's a chance it may have nothing at all to do with the mute button and may have just randomly broken.
Currently running Windows XP SP3 (tried the driver trick to no avail).
I've also tried it on other computers with the same problem. I can hear fine I just can't speak. Absolutly nothing is picked up by windows.
Help would be appreciated. I'm thinking about claiming warranty but want to leave that as a last resort.
EDIT: When I swivel the headset around it's axis I get some input from the microphone, when muting the microphone I don't so it seems that the muting isn't the issue but the microphone has a problem, perhaps the connection was broken somewhere.
