Can't create an account to setup remote

I'm trying to set up an account so that I can set up my Harmony 300.  Whenever I try to register, the process fails and I've got an error 'Email address has already been registered'.  I've never registered before, and I've tried registering using three different email addresses - I get the same issue regardless.

Is there enything I can do?

Re: Can't create an account to setup remote

I just got my Harmony 700 remote today and I'm having the same issue.  I've tried 3 different PCs ranging from WinXP 32bit to Windows 7 64bit.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the harmony software and silverlight many times, but I still get the " Email address has already been registered" error when trying to create a new account.

I've read a couple of other forums, and everyone is pointing the issue to Silverlight, but I don't see how that could be the issue in the case because I can get to the create an account screen.  If it was a silverlight issue, the "Sign in to My Harmony" login screen would not load.

Once I'm on the Sign in to My Harmony page I click on "New to My Harmony? Register here >".  It is on the next screen where the error occurs.  I fill out the Create an Account and then I'm given the " Email address has already been registered".  I've tried several email accounts as well.

Please help!

Re: Can't create an account to setup remote

I bought my Harmony 300 tonight, and and I'm having the same problem creating an account with myharmony.com, the "email address has already been registered" error. I've tried all 3 of my different email accounts, including fake emails such as none@none.com, and nothing is working. Can someone PLEASE offer some advice or troubleshooting...I do not want to have to return the product, just would like to use it.

Re: Can't create an account to setup remote

Given there's at least 4 of us with the same issue now, I unfortuntely think there's no troubleshooting that will fix this - Logitech's back end is broken, and we're going to have to wait for them to fix it before we can use our devices.

Re: Can't create an account to setup remote

Having the same problem here, I'm afraid. I'm a bit confused, as I previously (some years ago) bought a 1000i and have had that setup and working, so it would make sense for my email address to be on file. However, when I try to login, it fails. If I click the reset password link and enter my email address, it says the address is not on file. If I try to create a new account, it says the address exists. I bought two of these remotes today. I hope they sort this out real quick.

I am having the same problem. Very frustrating. Not a great way to impress a new customer.

Re: Can't create an account to setup remote

I found another way using Harmony Remote Software . i read that myharmony.com is easier to use (more pleasing to the eye) but you can still do it using this software  (which appears to have more customizability as well.)

Find you remote: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/remotes/universal-remotes

Go to 'Support' then 'Downloads' and then 'Download Software' e.g. LogitechHarmoneyRemote7.7.0

Follow the wizard and set up your devices. :smileyhappy:

Re: Can't create an account to setup remote

What OS are you using Venu?  After I finally managed to download the software and install it, it refuses to acknowledge that the remote is plugged in, and I'm still stuck.  I'm running Win 7 x64, and going through the troubleshooting for the app, it doesn't mention anything more recent than Win2k...so it seems like that version is very old.

Seriously not impressed with Logitech right now - I should be able to use a device i've purchased without having to create an account with them.  Also not impressed with the fact that to access the online support section, you have to have an account already created...yeah, the reason I want support is because I can't create an account!
