Harmony 300 and Sharp Air Conditioner

Today I purchased a Harmony 300 for my devices. Everything has worked so far except for my air conditioner, which is a Sharp CV-P10PC. The model number comes up in the list but there are no functions available for the device. I did find similar model numbers encounter the same problem: no commands available. I do not have the original remote to learn it in manually. The air conditioner itself has no external buttons besides the power to control what settings I desire.

As you might have figured, I need any assistance getting this device to work. I only need the Mega Cool function and the cool up/down buttons to work; the rest I can get by without. Thanks for the help in advance.

Your air conditioner is probably controlled by RF, which the Harmony can't control.  It is probably listed in the database because someone added to their profile thinking that the Harmony can control it hence the no commands available.

Re: Harmony 300 and Sharp Air Conditioner

Well, I'm not sure if this is completely true.

Upon messing with more Sharp Models, I did find one that allowed me to power the AC on, turn the cool up and down (which is one thing I need) and adjust the speed of the fan. It however, does not allow me to activate the mega cool function which is the big sticking point that I need the remote to accomplish.

Re: Harmony 300 and Sharp Air Conditioner

Hello lunarsquirrel,

Most Home Appliances such as Air Conditioners & Ceiling fans won't come with IR commands by default if they use some more obscure IR type.  Unfortunately, this Sharp does, and that means to use it you will need to learn in the commands yourself.

If you have lost the original remote, send me a private message of your MyHarmony.com email address and I will see if I can learn them in on your behalf.

Regards,

DaneHarmony

I think you should get a brochure or some manual book about how to operate air conditioner. Manual book always contains functions of the product you purchase, try that if it doesnt work then check it with the professional.

Re: Harmony 300 and Sharp Air Conditioner

Hi DaneHarmony, I see that you were offering to assist another customer with support on learning the model command for a sharp AC. I am also in the same boat, with a different Model.  I have a SharpCV10NH and I know this can be controlled using the Harmony remotes, as I had it working on my Harmony 880, whcih has since broken, and I am now using my 890 in its place.  However, I do not have the AC remote to re-learn the commands from the Sharp Remote. I logged into the Harmony account I have with the 880 and still see the Sharp device with all of the commands listed, what I really need is to be able to pull the commands from the 880 login and add them to my 890 login.  Is there anyway to do this?  Can you transfer the commands if I gave you my 2 harmony logins?

Thanks for your help,

Mike

lunarsquirrel - not sure if you are still on this forum, but could you share the model number that you found that provided basic control of the air conditioner? I have a CV10-NH and only need simple control to be satisfied.

DaneHarmony - just in case lunarsquirrel can't answer this question, would you be able to provide the codes for the CV-10NH?
