The installer runs but I'm not sure it completes in Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) since it vanishes and even after a reboot the device shows under Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers\Unspecified as "Harmony Remote 0-1.2.0"
Under C:\Program Files\Logitech\Harmony Remote Driver there are only 6 files.
When I go back to http://myharmony.com/ I get prompted to install again so I`m just going in circles.
Please switch to Java or Active X delivery of the driver and software.

How to get the Harmony 300 remote to work if you're using Windows 7:
I had to right click on LogitechHarmonySoftware.exe (which I saved to desktop) and use the troubleshoot menu option to get it installed in Windows XP SP2 mode. Even after doing that Internet Explorer version 8.0.7600.16385 did not support the software for this remote but when I used Firefox 3.6.8 web browser I was able to Login and get to the remote control setup functions to work. Clearing the IE8 web cache did not solve the the issue with IE8.
I am keeping this remote since it works fine with Firefox and in fact love it!
I can imagine many tech savy people returning it to the store.
Please fix the online MyHarmony software for the 300 model.

sinple - dont bother with any harmony product - logitech offers no real support. for Ie9 or safari or firefox - unless you never update your browser then you will be fine with old rubbish. Simple advice - dont buy it - if you have one, send it back. Wish i never bought one, complete waste of time and money.

Nigel you are spot on. As far as I can tell Logitech's Support is a joke. The reports of not being able to load or access the Harmony software goes back to 2010 and what--we are here late 2011 and the issue still exists --en masse. There must be thousands of people that have this problem based on internet posts up to early October 2011.
I called the Harmony support and they want something like $29 to give me supoort for something they have sold that obviously does not work worth a **bleep**. I am returning this remote to Best But and am going to make a point of telling of telling the manager and the salesman that sold me this remote that the software issues make it worthless.
Looking at all the technical issues that seem to date back a year or more it appears that Logitechs software division are either unable to write software that works or more likely they cannot update a faulty program in less that 12 or 18 monnths yet still sell the product.
I have uninstalled Silverlight
I have turned off my firewall and antivirus as recommended
I have tried to load the software in Windows and get the -cannot load the harmony remote dll\\driver
I have loaded the software through Firefox (current version) with the same message and that the plugin has failed
I went to CNET to download the software and was able to download the software to my desktop then I clicked on that and it loaded to the point that it again told me that the Harmony remote dll\\driver cannot load.
I have basically given up on this companys products and will never recommend their products to anyone.

Hello TerryinVictoria,
I am sorry to hear about your experiance with your remote.
Our engineers are looking into this issue, but not all users are effected.
Please try making a new myharmony.com account with another email and see if that changes anything. Also make sure to clear all your browser cache, silverlight cache and enable cookies.
Also please try and plug your remote into a USB plug in the back of your computer instead of the front.

i've tried about a dozen times using both IE and Firefox but cannot get the harmony 300 to sync. I have current silverlight but do not understand what it does nor how to do it??? how do i turn it on and use it?
I've cleared cache, cookies, etc. i get device buttons set up but when i try to sync the sync screen freezes. at times i have been able to get it to start initializing (unplugging, replugging as soon as i click the sync button) but once plugged back in the sync screen freezes. after reading the various forum comments, and there are many, i just about had it. i just can't keeping jumping throught hoops without results. i've got about 5 hours into this over 3 days...is there a fix? Or, do i just pitch the harmony 300 and stay away from all logitech?

There is nothing to do once you install Silverlight, it just needs to be installed.

My problem seems to be the windows driver that auto installs. When I plug in the USB, it recognises the Logitec device, but during the driver install a generic named windows driver installs. The new devices in Device Manager are "Human Interface Devices" with two sub headings " HID-Compliant Device" and "USB Input Device", with a Device Property showing Microsoft version 6.1.7601.17514.
Attempts at declining the driver install don't work, it continues the install after answering 'yes' to stop. Disabling the driver does not help. The logitech device detection helper correctly identifies the remote (Harmony 300).
I have tried all the other forum helps(pull battery tag, Firefox in XP mode, etc) but believe the driver to be a problem, so that the browser can't recognize the remote.
