Ok, this worked for me to get rid of the four flashing lights.  First pull one the battery out.  Plug in the USB cable.  Then hold the power button down and put the battery back in at the same time.  Bing, the USB connection is working even if the lights are still flashing.  This will allow you to sink your Logitech Harmony 300 remote again.  I had to sink it twice for the lights to stop flashing.  So, you may have to sink a few times.

I think there is an issue with these devices syncing with Windows 7 as I had all the symptoms of flashing lights and became unusable. The only fix I found that worked was to resync using Windows XP. I'm pretty sure that this is the only definate fix.

Let me know how you go.

I have this problem also. I follow the instructions and sync succesfully, but after every button press I get the 4 'My devices' lights flashing just the once.

The buttons will work intermittently for a minute then cease working at all. Then after a few minutes the remote will start flashing the 'My devices' lights 3 times again. No matter how many times I sync, its the same result. Driving me nuts, I'd really hope for some help from the vendor. Win7 x64

Edit:  Just tried via Windows XP as someone suggested - same problem.  Syncs 100% ok, but whenever I press a button the four my devices lights flash once.

My Harmony 300 has this problem but the FIX listed here is not working. Any more ideas on how to fix this trouble?

I tried it on two different pc's both on Windows 7 I do not own an XP machine.

Fixed it! I went into the harmony software and click on buttons selected my devices one at a time then clicked restore to defaults on bottom left then performed the fix listed here and it worked.

It took me several tries to stop my harmony 300 from flashing but the fix here worked.  It is the single power button and not the top power button that worked for me.  Once it worked, the harmony remote was instantly detected in Windows 7.  Yeah

I just had this same problem with a 3 button Harmony remote, and I tried your button 2 press while reinserting the batteries. Worked like a charm. Thanks.

Great idea on these remotes and the myharmony concept.  Unfortunately it simply does not work.  I've tried every fix suggested by Logitech and users and I have a DOA brand new remote.

Then it is time to contact Logitech support for a replacement.

I had the same problem, removed and put batteries back in, still no joy.  The I decided that just maybe it needed new batteries and with that it is working just fine again.
