Harmony 300 teaching commands

Hi,

I am having trouble programming my Harmony 300 to work with my Eviant T7 tv. During setup the default commands I see are:

ChannelUp
ChannelDown
DirectionDown
DirectionLeft
DirectionRight
DirectionUp
Menu
VolumeUp
VolumeDown

These default commands work properly on my tv. However, the default list does not have the power on/off nor the number buttons, which are quite important to me. I tried teaching the commands, assigning the power and number buttons to the appropriate keys on the harmony, and resynced the harmony. When I press the Power button I see the devices button light up but my T7 does not turn on/off. The number keys don't work either.

Does anyone know what I can do to get this to work? Or does the T7 remote do something unusual that will not work with the harmony?

Re: Harmony 300 teaching commands

Hi Doppler,

Based on the guide, I can't see a Power button or numbers on the original remote.

http://www.eviant.com/frontend1/pdf/T7-Quick-Start-Guide.pdf

Either way, you should have no problems if you do learn from another remote.  As long as you drag & drop those newly learned commands onto the buttons first & then Sync all should work.

Most people learn in 1, 2, 3 etc but don't drag them over to the number buttons and may assume that they're working by default.

Let us know if you still have issues

The T7 remote does have a power button as well as number commands (as well as a - button for digital channels).  I think the instructions must be showing an older model.

I had dragged the learned power command to the power button, as well as the learned number commands over the number buttons.  The settings are assigned to the keys, and I have synced the remote.

When I press the power button on the remote, I notice that the device button glows on for about 2 seconds, so I assume the command is trying to be sent out.
