I had just purchased the Harmony 700 remote control and was very happy with it.
However, I have now run in to this same problem after only one day of use. Everything was working fine and I was able to reconfigure the remote with no problem. I went back to tweak a menu and that's when I started getting the "can't sync" error.
I have tried many of the suggestions here without sucess. However, I have not cleared the Sliverlight Cache. Can someone tell me how this is done.
Next step is to return this product.

FIXED MY "CAN'T SYNC" !!!
Hi,
Had the same problem with my brand new Harmony One.. didn't sync any more. after the first initial setup, sync and test, I decided to do some fine-tuning: - expand my "activity's" with 2 more and change the screen-buttons.. After a few hours of configuring.. the sync didn't work any more..
Tried everything ... but at last I figured ther must be some configuration settings that prevented the sync...
So I decided to remove the 2 new "activity's" from the setup and do the sync...with succes!!
Furthermore later on I found another sync-fix in this forum which also included the removal of a poor configured activity..
Hope that this helped somebody..

Hi there,
After my Fixed sync problem as reported yesterday I went on with my configuration trying to find the cause of the sync-fail.
I use the Harmony One+ instead of the 700, but by lack of enough threads for the One+ I post my findings here...
I started out with a second watch TV activity which caused the can't sync fail again. So I did some trial and error to isolate the problem.
Eventually the can't sync error was caused by the following actions:
Create a new custom activity - Add my A/V receiver (Onkyo TX-DS55x) choose input "don't use input" => sync worked!
Create a new custom activity - Add my A/V receiver (Onkyo TX-DS55x) choose input "DVD" => sync Failed!
Based upon my other tests I dare to assume that it doesn't matter how much other activity's are programmed, or what kind of activity is chosen (e.g.. "watch TV" or "Custom". The simple fact of choosing my Onkyo and configuring any input is likely to cause the "Can't sync" fail!
I hope this will help to solve some of these can't sync issues cause otherwise I'll need to buy another receiver just to make my harmony work! ![]()

FIXED IT
For me I had to clean the TV icons using the web app myharmony.com.
You have to remove ALL the icons. ALL includes the icons which are not displayed properly by the app and appear transparent. You grab them (red outlined rectangle) and drop them in the trash bin. Then sync.

I had to do the same to make my 700 work too. I guess the idiots who programmed the software were too stupid to put some type of error message related to issues within configuration. They would rather have you think it's a connection issue either with remote to pc or remote, pc, to internet thru router. So that after you troubleshoot the obvious (as far as connections due to sync error message) you have to search forums to find what should have been obviously stated by the incompetent engineers who programmed the software. These must be the same clowns who programmed Google TV on such weak hardware like the Revue or who made crap software like Squeeze box for home servers.
