I recently purchased a Harmony 900 remote and have questions about customizing it. I have a home theater system with six zones. The person who installed my home theater also set up the remote, so I am not familiar with the set up yet. My home theater is set up is set up so I can watch TV in the living room and listen to music from my Apple TV or Blue Ray Player in another zone. The only problem is right now when I use the remote to get the music playing on the Apple TV and switch to watching TV it turns off the Apple TV. Thus I cannot listen to music in the other zones. Ideally I would like the remote to turn on the Apple TV player when selected, but not turn it off when I select watch TV. When I push system off I would like it to turn off everything. Is it possible to set up the remote to leave the Apple TV on as described above and still turn off when I choose system off. If so any help with instructions in set up for this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In the Harmony Remote 7.7 software, there are a couple of settings that affect whether a device is turned off.
First: If you go into an Activity and then choose the "Change Options" radio button, you will see an option to leave all of the unused devices for an activity "on" when you start that activity.
Second: You can tell the Harmony Software and Remote not to send any power commands to a device. In the "Devices" tab, go to a device, click "Settings" and then click "Adjust power settings." From there, you'll see 3 choices:
- I want to leave this device on all the time
- I want to turn off this device when it's not in use
- There are no power buttons on my current remote for my [name of device]
Whatever you select here will apply to all activities that use this device.
(For my living room setup, I actually tell the Harmony Remote that none of my devices can be turned on or off with the remote. I find it easier to turn everything on and off manually at the devices themselves than to deal with all the on/off issues through the remote.)
Hope this helps!
