I was trying to email support but can't seem to find the SN or PID for my remote. So I figured Id ask here. Is there anyway I can program this remote to change the display mode on my TV when I switch from "Watch TV" to "Play A Game"

Those numbers are in the battery compartment. What you are trying to do would require a Sequence or as other remotes call it a macro, and if you are using MyHarmony.com Sequences are not available. Or if you wanted to create an Activity that would include those commands to the start of your activity to change the display mode, but again adding additional commands to the start of your activity are not available in MyHarmony, only if you use the 7.7 software. A Sequence of up to five commands would be available if you use the stand alone 7.7 software. Using your original remote what steps would do to change the display mode?

Hi thanks for the help. I did use the My Harmony site but I have also downloaded the software to check it out. I am a little slow at this so step by step instructions would be great.

Anyhow, I can change the Display Mode on my Sony Bravia one of 2 ways.

The first way is I hit Menu, and scroll over to the left and select Preferences, then I scroll down and select Scene Select, from there I can choose my Scene, movie, music, game, ect.

The second way is to hit Tools, and scroll down to Scene Select, and then choose my scene.

If you are going to use the software, write down all of the menu steps you need to change your display mode.  Count up all of the steps needed each press of the remote would count as one command such as Menu, Direction Right, Direction Right, Direction Right, Select.  This would count as 5 commands.  Let me know hom many commads it would take to get the display mode that you would want, and whether if you would want this display mode to start with your Activity such as Watch TV or Play a DVD.

Well as I said there are two ways to do it. Should I use the Tools method, which is less steps? or the Menu method, which is many more commands.

I'm going to assume the one with the fewest commands would be best, so it is as follows

Tools>Enter/Select>Direction Down> Direction Down> Direction Down>Select>Direction Left>Direction Left>Select

The above directions would change my Display mode from TV to Game. I want my TV to do this when I select the Activity "Play Xbox" that I have set up, or will set up.

Then when I go back to my other Acitivty, "Watch TV", the steps would be as follows:

Tools>Select>Direction Down> Direction Down> Direction Down>Direction Right> Direction Right> Select

That would then change the Display mode from Game back to Theater, or General.So how would I input these commands into the remote? I'm still at a loss with this software. haha

Also, I was wondering, I have a Comcast DVR and on the remote for the DVR there is a "My DVR" button to bring up my recordings. How can I program a button to do this on my Harmony remote? Thanks!

I would always use the less steps, as less time that your would have to point your remote at the device.  To create a sequence, you have too many commands, as you are limited to 5 commands. So a Sequence is out, you could add those additional commands to the start of your Game Activity , and add the other commands to the ending of your Game Activity, this can only be done if you user the 7.7 software. Remember, you would have to have your remote pointed at your devices for the whole time it takes to execute those commands, and should you move your remote an one of the commands is missed, the Help button will not fix it. You would probably have to go into the TV Menu to make the necessary corrections.

For You DVR the command may already exist in the database, but it may be called something other than My DVR, it may be called List, and you would have to program the command to one of your LCD screen buttons.  If it does not exist in the database, you can teach it to your Harmony from your original remote then map it to a button of your choice in your Activity

 If you want to add those commands to the start and end of your Game Activity, let me know and I will give you instructions as to how in the 7.7 software.  It cannot be done using MyHarmony.com.

Also, I figured out that by selecting the Menu button on the Harmony remote, I can access my DVR from the Comcast Menu it brings up. So no need for that DVR button after all.

I see on the 7.7 software, that I cannot change the names of the acitivities. Or am I missing something? Also I cannot figure out for the life of me how to add any commands or steps to an activity on this software, it seems to have pre-disposed steps and does not let me do much of any customizing.

To change the name of your Activity, select your Activity, select Settings, select Change the name of your ***** Activity

With the 7.7 software, select your Activity, select Review settings for this activity, select Yes but I want have more control, select Save, then select a couple of Next's until you get to the custom actions screen , here you can add additional commands for any device in your activity to either the start or ending of your activity.
