I bought a Harmony 300 remote about one month ago.
The PROBLEMS:
1. The remote sends twice the command with one push of the button.
2. There is a lag or delay time between button pressed and command executed from any of the 4 programmed devices. With this lag it is very hard to navigate through the menus of any device
3. There is a buffer effect for all the buttons/commands. For example if I press the volume up button for 2 seconds and release it, the volume keeps going up for another second.
4. Without pressing any button at all, the remote sends POWER ON commands to the STEREO Hi-Fi SET, at random times and sometimes when pressing the Watch TV button.
The STORY so far:
I read the FAQ and done everything suggested there.
I read the forum and the only solution was to contact technical support.
I contacted technical support at 7-June-2011 and opened the support ticket (edit out personal information), describing the problems 1 and 3 (The other two came up later).
Until today (28-June-2011), after 15 business days (!) the only answers that I got are all Copy-Paste, telling me to describe again and again the problems. No answers or even suggestions in the direction of solving the problems.
During this time, I responded 5 times to this support ticket. From my last 2 replies and on, I get no sign of them at all.
Other user’s cases similar to mine (not all of them):

My CONCLUSION so far:
LOGITECH’S TECHNICAL SUPPORT DOES NOT EXIST.
It really is a pity that after so many users complains, the well known problem of “double commands”, has not been addressed yet. You can view the replies to my support ticket here:

I too am having problems with my Harmony 300 but I'm not sure what's causing the problem. Except I'm not really sure if it's the remote or customer service. I bought my remote a little less than 1 year ago. No problems during all this time until I got a new surround sound to go with my flat screen TV. When I updated the software and plugged in my remote, (which until this time worked just perfectly), it deleted all programming previously entered. I tried all kinds of suggestions from Logitech forums and FAQ. Nothing helped. The softwear does not recognize the remote. I contacted customer support. After 3 days of waiting and having to use 4 separate remotes to watch TV or a movie, I finally got a reply to place my remote into safe mode. Claudine, (Service representative) suggested I try items 1-8 on their web site. I already had. Then she told me how how to put my Harmony 300 into safe mode, which I would see on the digital display. My Harmony 300 does not have a digital display. I told her this. Her next reply was that now I would have to go to a higher Technical help and this is not free because we were past the 90 days for whatever. My remote is not even 1 year old. Then she asked me to please respond to her survey for customer service. Oh, I plan to alright.
I really have to agree that there is no Customer Support. I paid good money for my remote and I liked it just fine until trying to add a component. This is a very common problem if you read the forms. I will never buy another however. Comcast gives me one for free that may not be as user friendly but at least their customer service talk on the phone and if it does not work, a replacement is free.

Dear Opening Post:
I take offence to this, It does does exist, its just some of the issues are not fully explained. With the issue about sending multiple commands at once that is a case of the repeats being set to high for that particualr deice, you need to contact support for this issue. The 3rd question about having the buffer this is because you need the commands for your volume or whatever changed to a press and hold command from a press and click command, this also needs to be delt with by tech support. So you can call in and talk to a human and get it fixed or stop complaining about e mail agents not answering your questions right away, I would like to see you try and answer the 1000's of e mails that they get daily. Or you could just go and buy a real Harmony remote, one that uses the Harmony 7.7 software and make the changes yourself!
To everyone else with the 300 and is having the same issues as him you will need to contact support, I would reccomend calling them to get it fixed on the spot, as for the myharmony.com software does not have the functionalit to make thoes changes

That's bull**bleep**. I should make a call cross the atlantic, to make my remote function like intented? How about Logitech stop jerking it up, and fix myharmony.com functionality so we can make the 300 and 300i works by us self? So far I have bought headsets, mice and keyboards from Logitech, but this remote is the last I have ever bought. The store won't take it back, since it's working as intented. Logitech Support says it can't be changed, and I could get a 10% discount on a more expensive remote. I have to find this random thread, to find a solution - and that should be spending my entire day on the phone?!

Have same issue with 300. VOL up/down goes double step for DENON AVR-1709. No suceesful fix involving relearning commands with original and assigning a new command to SAT/CBL.
Sadly the Logitech remotes are 10x to 50x the cost of a generic that works fine. **bleep**?
