I have been running squeezebox server for a few years on a Windows Home Server with a couple of players and a duet controller. After working fine for some time it will no longer connect to any external services eg BBC iplayer (see error meesage below), mySqueezebox, podcasts, etc. The system is still playing my music from the server. I have not made any changes to the server or the squeezebox software. The server is set to receive automatic updates from Microsoft. I have rebooted the server and restarted the squeezebox server all to no avail. I can access remote sites from the WHS using a web browser including the ones that the Squeezebox server cannot resolve ip addresses for.
Any thoughts on how to resolve the problem....

This sounds like a DNS Cache issue, try clearing the DNS Cache on the WHS.
Log in remotely and open a Command Prompt
Type: ipconfig /flushdns
Once this is complete, reboot the computer and run Squeezebox Server

Can you do the following command and tell me what IP address you get for Mysqueezebox.com?
Open the command prompt again, as instructed before
type: ping mysqueezebox.com
You should get 4 replies from a specific IP address

Hi Tevor
a couple of further thoughts
- ip address for mysqueezebox is 89.202.121.131 in case that was important.
- I can access internet radio stations if I change the library to mysqueezebox with the Duet controller but then I lose the plugins like bbc iplayer on my local squeezebaox server

Alright, so we've established that your computer itself is capable of contacting Mysqueezebox.com and can see the IP Address, but the Squeezebox Server is not able to see the IP or contact it. Are you running any Firewall or Proxy software? If so, check your excpetions list against the following:
C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thre
C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thre
C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\server\Scanner.exe
C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\Server\Squeezesvr.exe
C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\Server\squeezesvc.exe
C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\Server\squeezeboxcp.exe

I'm running windows firewall. I've added the exceptions, most but not all were their already. It hasn't resolved the problem. Have also turned off the firewall and re-tried. Didn't make any difference.

Let's take this offline, and open a support ticket. Can you Private Message me your Email Address and Name so I can open a case for you in our ticketing system?

Hi,
I'm running Squeezebox Server v7.5.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 and I'm also having the same problem. Squeezebox Server cannot connect to Last.fm, or mysqueezebox.com. When I look in the logs I see the lines I posted below.
I'm running a netfilter firewall on my computer, I've allowed the ports you posted above. I'd appreciate any help I could get in getting this to work.
Thanks.
