Display Issues with 7.7.1

Since upgrading to v 7..7.1 the display on my Squeezeboxes no longer shows anything at standby even though I have brightness set to max and font size to full (same as previous). Any ideas?

Downgrading to 7.6.1 seems to have cured it

Hi tahirs,

 That's an interesting situation. What did you try for troubleshooting when you were with 7.7.1? I was going to suggest a factory reset and to force a reinstall of the firmware but if 7.6.1 is working for you then that's fine as well... if it's not broke, don't fix it, I suppose. :smileyindifferent:

Re: Display Issues with 7.7.1

I'm kind of thinking it may be a combination of firmware/software. I now have my date/time  idle screensvaer back but I can't get "Now playing" screensaver when playing. In terms of troubleshooting I fiddled with server and player settings but didn't go into much detail as I don't have much time at home. If a reboot doesn't work I might uninstall/reinstall if I get the time.

Odd indeed... how are you accessing the screensaver settings? Through the Squeezebox itself or through the advanced settings web interface?

Re: Display Issues with 7.7.1

Hi tahirs,

 When you said 'displays nothing', what exactly do you mean? Does it appear that the screen is completely black with no back light? Or is the screen still turned on but it is blank?

 Also, is it consistantly not working in 7.7.1 but it works fine in 7.6.1?

Apologies, it's not actually displaying nothing while playing music, it displays the text "Now Playing" with the arrow right.This started with 7.7.1 and persists even though I've downgraded to 7.6.1 I've no idea which version I was on before upgrading to 7.7.1

Blank display was on standby screensaver in 7.7.1.

Ah, yes I see now.

 Please check your settings;

Settings - Screen - Screensaver - When Playing... in this menu, check to see if the "Now Playing" is the selected option.
