LMS Scanning fails to find anything

After updating, my LMS 7.7.1 - r33696  fails to find any media. When asked to scan it stops fairly quickly stating

"media scan terminated unexpectedly (Scanning Progress)"

The scan log is below, . What should I do ? Now the Squeezebox is useless?

Thanks for your help

Re: LMS Scanning fails to find anything

What is this running on?

How did you update? (clean install or just update?)

Running on a home Windows 7 32bit pc. Several partitioned hard drives.

Just updated, not cleanly installed.

Thanks for your interest,.

I would like you to do a clean install.

To perform a clean install follow the steps below.

1. Open Control Panel, then open “Programs and Features”

2. Scroll down to Squeezebox Server, select it and click “Uninstall”

3. Restart Windows

4. Go to C:\Program Files and delete the Squeezebox folder
- Click on Start
- Click on My Computer
- Click on C:\
- Click on the Program Files folder
- Locate the Squeezebox folder and delete it (and SlimServer and SqueezeCenter if they exist)

-Also look for anything that says Logitech Media Server and delete thoses

5. Go to C:\ProgramData, locate and delete the Squeezebox folder
- Click on the Windows icon on the bottom left of the screen
- Click on Computer
- Type the path above in the Address field
- Locate and delete the Squeezeboxfolder (and SlimServer and SqueezeCenter if they exist)

--Also look for anything that says Logitech Media Server and delete thoses

6. Download and reinstall Squeezebox Server from:

http://www.mysqueezebox.com/download

7. After the install completes, the Squeezebox Server Control Panel will launch.

8. Click the Accounts Tab and enter your mysqueezebox.com credentials, and the Library tab to point to your music library.

Squeezebox Server will start scanning your music library. Once the music scan is complete, Squeezebox Server is now set up and ready to play music.

Let me know how that goes.

Re: LMS Scanning fails to find anything

That worked perfectly. Scanned the family collection beautifully and quickly without problem.

Thankyou Cat for your help.

Re: LMS Scanning fails to find anything

I've got exactly the same problem.

Have to say though, completely uninstalling and reinstalling isn't really a satisfactory fix. Still, I'll give it a go.

Re: LMS Scanning fails to find anything

Try doing a simple LMS Clean Cache then full rescan before doing a full uninstall/reinstall.

LMS > Control Panel > Advanced > Clean Cache, hit Apply, restart LMS, then try a scan
