I had been running SBS 7.5.3 for over a yr. Occasionally I would have an issue connecting after a computer restart. On Xmas I accidentally knocked the plug from the socket that supplies power to my PC, modem and router. Following the process of powering everything down and disabling Norton firewall then restarting did not help. SBS would start but then lose connection to ports 3483 and 9000 for mysqueezebox.com and I wass unable to play music on either of my 2 Touchs. After retring multtiple times I said oh what the __ and updaterd to 7.7.1 r33750. I did this on top of 7.5.3.
LMS deleted the old sofware and installed easily. Rescan was about the same-30 mins for 23.8k of FLAC files about 50% w embedded art. I run no plugins and am on a Win 7 64 bit PC w the 2 Touchs connected via wifi. LMS connected easier than ever w no issues at all. Squeezeplay 7.5.0 working as well. Everything except the complete rescan appears to be a bit quicker.
I had always hesitated to update due to all the issues I hear raised in these forums. Now I am glad I did it appears to be working just fine !

That's nice to hear. I was running 7.3.4 and changed to 7.4 when it came out. Did not work hardly at all. On top of it, I HATED the new button alignment on the Controller. (old story) Long story short, I changed back to 7.3.4 and did not upgrade until 7.6 came out. (I really want to get a Touch and a Radio) I have been running 7.6.2 and it is just about flawless for me. I've thought about upgrading, but I havent seen a reason to other than trying to keep up with the latest and greatest. Maybe I will....

Have been running LMS 7.7.1 for several days now. Complete clear and rescan is now down to about 15 min for 23k FLAC files 1/2 w embedded artwork. Much quicker. As noted elsewhere in these forums correct tags seem to be more of an issue w this release and as such have spent time cleaning those up as issues make themselves apparent.
I do not use Album/Artist tags but evidently some online databases do and can cause duplicate artists to appear w different spelling- caps vs lower case etc.
All in all working well.

No playback,,,? Upgraded several days ago, hadn't had opportunity to listen until tonight. The Transporter may be more responsive... rescan was certainly quicker... but there's no playback. When playing from my library, there are no visual cues of playback at all - and of course there's no sound. Hitting FF only advances to the next track. It's the same for radio - but the song title does update as new track names are sent down by the radio station. There's still no sound, and no sign of playback from the Transporter UI or remote (Logitech's app). My external EQ shows not a thing. The web UI shows it playing, however. Anyone seen this or similar? I'll roll-back tonight, see it it's the upgrade, or a coincidental, much larger problem.
Hmmm...

I'm still running 7.5.1 r30836
After reading so many disppointing stories in these forums I have resisted updating either my server or my Duet controller.
Could someone clarify what benefits I could expect if I updated to LMS 7.7.1 r33750 ?

Thanks for the link to the release notes.
I have a question about the information in the release notes.
Under "Release Highlights" there is a section labelled "Software Versions" which lists a software version for each of the devices that can use the server. What do these versions mean? (how do they relate to the server version?) are they a requirement?
Thanks,
Kevin

Each player has it's own unique firmware version, that is what is listed next to each player. Each unique player firmware is included in each version of LMS.

So if I update my LMS (running on Windows Home Server) will it update my Duet controller (or offer an update for my Duet controller) ?
