Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

Hello Cat,

Yes, that does look similar, apart from the fact that, with the latest build, as long as it's looking for music only, it scans fine and completes the scan each time.

Do you want me to try to add a folder with some photos in and see what happens?

Regards,

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

Yes please. Try adding just a small new file and see what happens.

If it still does not work then post what you have done and the results in the bug report.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

Hello Cat,

OK, I thought I'd keep it simple, so in the same directory as I have my music (\\NAS\Media\Music) I created a new directory and put one photo file in it.  I then changed the LMS config for the existing Media Folder to search for Music and Pictures.

Here's the log:

As you can see, the automatic scan which occurred a 5:00 a.m. this morning worked fine, but the scan started as a result of me telling it to scan for pictures as well resulted in the server crashing as previously experienced.

Should I just add my findings to the existing bug, or start a new one (I think technically, that bug logged isn't really a 'bug' as the chap who posted it isn't running LMS on a supported platform is he - FreeNAS/SlimNAS?).

Also, could you confirm what the log in italics means, regarding the Firmware?

Many thanks,

Phil

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

Hello Phil,

First try the 7.7.1 that just got released and if it still happens add your info to the existing bug.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

Hello Cat,

I've upgraded to 7.7.1.  Had a bit of bother - Clean Squeeze Centre reported an error each side of upgrading LMS, but seems to be working ok (apart from pictures and vids, which results in the same crash).

I'll report the bug.

Thanks again for your help with this.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

Sorry I could not help more Phil, but the bugs go to the engineers and they will be able to give more info if they feel it is a big issue.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and LMS 7.7.0 Endless scanning

No, need to apologise, Cat.  If it's a bug, then there's nothing that you can do.  I work in IT, so I know about bugs :-)

Thanks again, and (if you celebrate it) have a great Christmas!

Phil
