I have Logitech Media Server 7.7.2 - r33893 running, and it is scanning a whole bunch of extra directories beyond what I want it to do. I have specified one directory as my media folder: C:\Users\Owner\Music
However, when it scans, it is looking in a bunch of places outside that directory, taking forever and picking up a bunch of files that I don't want it to do. To wit, some examples:

Try turning off UPnP in LMS > Settings > Advanced > Network > UPnP
Also see what media folders LMS is attempting to scan in LMS > Settings > Basic

The only media folder assigned is C:\Users\Owner\Music on LMS > Settings > Basic. Clearly that instruction is being ignored, if you see the directories that it is scanning from my first post.
Also, UPnP Client was disabled under Settings > Advanced > Network. Also, iTunes is turned off.
The other odd and infuriating behavior is that I have it set to scan once day at 1:00 AM under Settings > Advanced > Rescan Music Library, yet there seems never to be a time that it is not scanning, 24/7/365.

John H., I seem to be having a similar problem in that once I initiate a scan(one folder or All) I get a message "Media Folders unavailable while scanning." I too have instructed LMS to scan once/day at a specific time but it seems to be scanning continuously. The only work-around I have found is aborting the scan in Web Based Interface>Advanced Settings>information>Player Information>ABORT SCAN. Once I take this action, all my media folders & files become available and I am able to play them. This problem began happening after my SB-Touch was updated to Version 7.7.2 r9663.
Unfortunately, once I make a change with my media folders & rescan, I am confronted with the same problem again. It's very frustrating...here's hoping Logitech is working on a solution...maybe squeezeit can help.
