SiriusXM app login issues

I was able to find some info on this issue using the search function, but I'm still having trouble resolving the problem.
I installed the SiriusXM app to my Squeezebox, but when I try to log on, I get the following message:
"A premium sirius internet radio account is required"
I have no trouble signing on at the XM website and listening through their online tuner. How can I tell if I have a "premium internet radio account"? I'm not sure what I have since I prepaid for 3 years nearly 3 years ago. I thought they had made it where the premium internet account was the only way to listen to XM online.
I tried to see if there was a way to upgrade my XM internet radio account, but I don't see any options for upgrading through the "manage my account" page on the XM website.
Any advice for how I can get this app to work where I can listen to XM through my Squeezebox? thanks in advance

Hello crazystix,
You would need to call Sirius for further assistance about your type of account and also be located in the US to work with the Squeezeboxes.
You also need to make sure you change your login username to a username instead of an email if you still have it that way.

so to be clear
if i am in canada and have a canadian xm account, i cannot access xm thru squeezebox server?

This is correct. This is a restriction put in place by SiriusXM. It will only work in the US.

how does that make sense?
i bought the squeezebox in canada and i am subsccribing to canadian xm
xm in the US wont let me? should i take this up with xm canada?
