MySqueezebox.com & Squeezebox Server

ok. I think I've isolated the source of the problem.  From a clean boot / program start SbS is fine; switches between mysqueezebox.com and library fine; streams radio stations and, with notable exception below, plays  library tracks fine.

but, the faad.exe hang is repeatable. 

I downloaded two Paul Piche albums from iTunes.   Whenever I attempt to play a track off these, the problem occurs. 

file extension on these tracks is  .m4a  (MPEG-4 Audio). 

Is this the problem?

Probably, but I'm not knowledgable about faad.exe issues. You might try posting the information from this last post (and include  OS, type of player, etc.) over at:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/

There are a lot of other experienced users over there that can probably diagnose your problem fairly quickly. Definitely something with faad.exe.  You might use something like "SbS 7.5.1 fails when using faad.exe" in the subject line.
