Hi there
I've trawled through a variety of posts trying to find a solution but with no success. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
I'm using Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893, running on Windows 7
I have a Squeezebox Boom
Sometimes the Boom works and sometimes it doesn't. There are many days when the Boom will not recognise the server. Today is one of those days. The server can't recognise the music player.
I have restarted the Boom, the router and the PC a number of times. I have done a factory reset on the Boom and reentered all of the information.
The diagnostics tab on the Server Control Panel says that everything is OK. I can play the radio via the Boom. I just can't access my own music. Any ideas?
All suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks

Probably not necessary to do factory resets. On the Boom press & hold the BACK (left) arrow, scroll to "connect to LMS xxx.xxx.x.xx", arrow right to select.

Thanks ever so much. A combination of any number of things seems to have it working again. Windows prompted me again to allow the server Internet access too. I have sound again. I'm most grateful

I've only ever used Windows, never had a Mac or any non Windows based computer, since Windows 95 and on multiple computers. I've never once been prompted by Windows "to allow internet access" for any running programs. I'd suggest that something in Windows or on your Windows PC is not functioning correctly. Possibly anti virus or firewall related, dunno. But that alone would explain your issues with the SqueezeBox server not seeing your players, or at the very least is quite likely further complicating and exaggerating the issue.
