Hi,
I have had my Sb BOOM for about 4 years, I started off running wirelessly but the microwave interferred with the signal (I bought it for my wife.. who only wanted a digital Radio and reminds my of that whenever it goes wrong, which is frequently!!!)
So I switched to cable. I have a gigabit LAN in the house. I run Media Player from my Synology NAS (DS209), which i believe is the source of most if not all of my previous issues. I currently have the latest Synology version (7.1.1 001, which is always behind by at least 1 version).
I don't know if this is wrong but I always have to change the music source from NAS to MySqueezebox if I waont to listen to the radio (which is what my WIFE wanted for the Kitchen). I can't connect to the NAS listen to my iTunes collection then select Internet Radio. I have to jump back or power off and then change the Music source!!! I have a Netgear MP101 that won't find the radio source at all (I don't know if these two issues are connected).
Anyway, about 3/4 days ago the radio stopped working. We had a oreset for RADIO 2 and suddenly there are not presets saved, we try and log on to MySqueezebox and it says:
Connecting.... then " Cant find address for MySqueezebox.com"
I have performed multiple Factory Resets but it never gives me the option to enter the logon detailsfor My Squeezebox.com it just tries to connect and of course fails.
I had not changed any other settings, th Router was unchanged, the NAS was unchanged.
I have since upgraded to fibre-optic BROADBAND and upgraded to DSm4.0 on the NAS. Everything else works but the BOOM still refuses to connect to MySqueezebox.com!!!
ANY Ideas???
please

Something is wrong if your Boom cannot play internet radio from your LMS server via your NAS, there is no need to switch to MySB.com. The NAS is likely not seeing the internet. Try stopping then restarting LMS server on the NAS.

Squeezit, thanks for the reply. By LMS do you mean Logitech Media Server? If so I have not only stopped and started this but completely uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version that synology has for LMs which is 7.7.1
I don't think the NAS is NOT seeing the Internet as I have updated the latest version of the NAS OS from within the NAS. Unless the NAs opens ports that are otherwise closed I am reasonably sure the NAS is seeing the Internet. I know it sounds like the BOOM is not finding the default gateway but it has the correct settings i.e. the IP of the Router. It shouldn't have the IP of the NAS??? or should it.
The stupid thing was, apart from having to change the Music Source between NAS and MySqueezebox.com it has been working OK!!
What about the similar issue with the Netgear MP101 not finding the Internet could that be a clue to some Firewall of Router Port setting not being open?

Yes, LMS needs certain ports. If another program is running on the NAS that already has been assigned those ports then LMS won't work. Any other media server program running on the NAS? There is a good LMS Diagnostic screen to help diagnose such issues but this is not available on the NAS version.
Often just stopping then restarting LMS will clear such port issues. Might try clearing the LMS cache file then restart LMS. Sure your MySB login credentials are correct on the NAS?
Boom should have it's own IP, all other network configuration settings are the same for all devices (DNS, gateway, etc...)
Yes, firewall and/or AV and/or network configuration might be an issue, especially if another device also cannot see the internet.

Now this is really stupid. I have just disabled my AVG Firewall on the main PC (and we have several in the house and the SB is running on the NAS NOT from the PC). and it has now found My Squeezebox.com!!!
This makes NO sense???
Any ideas what this might be??

Nope still not working properly....
I now cannot access my iTunes files on the NAS. It won't connect to Logitech Media Server either.
The SB uses a fixed IP (192.168.081) the range 1-100 being reserved DHCP Range is 101-254
the Default Gateway is the norml router IP 0f 192.168.0.1 Ditto for DNS
AVG 2012 only runs on ome PC the rest use MS Security Essentials
Their currently is NO AV on the NAS, many moons ago it was running a network version of AVG (not sure it ever worked though).
There is no reason why the firewall being enabled on this PC should have any impact on my SB BOOM.
Any more thoughts?
I will now try and talk to AVG to see if they can shine any light on the issue

Dunno what to tell you, maybe calling support for both AVG and/or Logitech. I run LMS with Free AVG on a WiFi WinXP laptop without issue. Sure all NAS permissions are correct? Sure nothing else is running on the NAS?
