Error in diagnostics:
Ports 3483, 9000, and 9090 have all failed. I also see the following in the Alerts box:
Possible software conflict found
* Norton
* Norton
* Norton
Had logged this with support and like many others got the clean reinstall story which of course is rubbish. Have ensured that all ports are open so finally after wasting a few hours this morning decided to go back to an earlier build.
Have installed 7.6.1 [the last Squeezebox branded build) and so far everything looks stable. Time will tell.
My question to Logitech is -- when will the obvious bug in 7.7.1 be corrected and will it be part of 7.7.2 ?? None of us want to go through all of this hassle again.

You might want to look at this-http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/de
regarding Norton Antivirus setup. Do not recall if I followed this or not, but worth a shot.
I used to run SBS 7.5.3 and had problems reconnecting whenever PC was turned off or restarted. What I used to see was the same thing ports had failed. To correct I would disable network protection in Norton,shut down the modem, router and PC in that order then restart in reverse order. It would then connect.
Switched to LMS 7.7.1 on 12-25-2011 and no longer have any issues at all and scanning is faster.

Hello MGCandFNC,
You may also need to go into your Norton 360 and turn off (Uncheck) the Default block UPnP discovery under Firewall Protection Settings>Traffic Rules. This maybe affecting 7.7.1 because it now as a DLNA server built in.
As for your question about what will be included in the next update, Logitech employees cannot comment on future releases.

Thank you for the feedback.
We are actually running the business package - Symantec End Point Protection but all much the same.
I have reinstalled 7.71 & checked that the UDP setting in End Point Protection is "unticked" ie not blocking LDS.
Have set the user to an ID with Administrator rights.
Started LDS & at this stage the lookups to Ports 3483, 9000 & 9090 are all showing "OK"
Have also opened Port 3483 TCP/UDP & Port 9000 TCP on our Draytek 2830 router.
Will monitor how things perform over the next 24 hours & advise how things progress.

Bad news. WIthin an hour of reinstalling 7.7.1 the srv.exe crashed with the previous slimserver connection failures on port 3483, 9000 & 9090
I have checked the Symantec Endpoint Protection logs and it is allowing UDP connections with the mysqueezebox.com and incoming to the server so this seems to rule out that Endpoint Protection is causing the problem.
I have installed 7.6.1 and everything is back to normal and stable.
Really running out options. Only thing that maybe haven't been covered. Ob the router I had opened 3483 TCP/UDP & 9000 TCP. Perhaps I should have included TCP 9090 -- any thoughts ????

Try that. We also use 9092 TCP as well.

Please clarify - I opened 9090/TCP but still crashed every 10-15 minutes.
Your message suggests 9092/TCP -- was this a typo ?? Or is this another port that is needed ?
Meantime 7.6.1 is stable and OK.

we use:
3483 TCP/UDP
9000 TCP
9090 TCP
9092 TCP
If things are fine for you on the 7.6.1 then you can stay with that if you like. You do not have to update it you do not wish to. If you do want to stay with 7.7.1 then you may want to contact support so that they can look into some of your logs further.

Hi again. Thanks for the feedback. We have indeed stayed with 7.6.1 for the time being. We have just ordered a new Squeezebox Touch which I guess should be OK with 7.6.1 I had thought of holding off upgrading until your next release given all the trouble with 7.7.1

Hello MGCandFNC,
That is fine. It is up to you whether you want to update or not, though some updates may help if you see certain issues with your current version.
