Squeezebox server & mysqueezebox.com can't connect WHS

I am running WHS and I can't get my squeezebox server to connect to mysqueezebox.com. I am getting the error below. However, my player can directly connect to mysqueezebox.com so I don't think it is problems with the router.

[10-08-18 01:04:30.0375] Slim::Networking::smileyfrustrated:queezeNetwork::_init_error (212) mysqueezebox.com sync init failed: Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor, will retry in 300 (http://www.mysqueezebox.com)

Re: Squeezebox server & mysqueezebox.com can't connect WHS

I'm not familiar with WHS so can't be much help, but I assume you've done the following:  turn off router, turn off WHS, turn off/unplug player. Then turn on router, let fully start, turn on WHS let fully boot, including SbS fully starting, then plug in player and select the server.  This often solves issues. But I'm thinking that your error speaks to something being off with the WHS install itself. You might try reinstalling the latest stable SbS software on your WHS.

Re: Squeezebox server & mysqueezebox.com can't connect WHS

Hi Jl325,

You may want to have a look at the Support Knowledge Base article linked to below. This guide details how to correctly install and uninstall the Squeezebox Server on a Windows Home Server computer. Many customers attempt to install the application through RDP, but in fact you should be installing the application through the Add-in Manager.

If this does not help, go ahead and contact our Customer Care department, with a copy of your Server.Log file from the Squeezebox Server.

Re: Squeezebox server & mysqueezebox.com can't connect WHS

I have a similar problem with ReadyNAS NV+.  I carefully followed the extensive installation instructions:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17012

But the SBS running on ReadyNAS NV+ cannot seem to access mysqueezebox.com.  I noticed in logs that it simply cannot resolve the IP address of mysqueezebox.com.  Don't go blaming my router because my computer sitting on the same router allows me to connect with http://mysqueezebox.com.

I noticed that the server thinks its IP address is 127.0.0.1 and I'm guessing that talking to itself is not going to ever get what I want.  Im not sure what DNS server it contacts but apparently it is not correct.

Any other ideas or how to fix it?

Reading a post from support in another thread I got the impression that my SBS should work (as long as it is on) and SB.com should work through my SBS without having to switch libraries.

Re: Squeezebox server & mysqueezebox.com can't connect WHS

What is reported for ALL pings, ports, IP's within SBS > Control Panel > Diagnostics?

Also try stopping and restarting SBS on the NAS.  If the NAS graps it's IP and DNS tables before SBS is fully launched it can fool SBS into thinking it does not have access to the internet.  That plus NAS devices can have issues with DNS in general.
